HELP ~ LIVE ~ LIFE
The Bell Tower Community Arts & Entertainment Complex has been in operation since Aug of 2016 occupying an old United Church in the Historic Bridgeburg Station in Fort Erie, Ontario Canada.
As the story goes, there was a group of friends who for several years had worked together putting together various charity events, food drives and social events. A message went out to the group one day about a meeting at an all- you-can-eat sushi bar. Once all of the group was plied with vast amounts of free sushi and there was a short pause in conversation, Noel Leboeuf, self proclaimed ringleader of the group, casually announced. “So everyone, I have an idea!”
There was a round of chuckles and a few light hearted comments. “What have you got us into now?” and “What crazy thing have you gone committed to this time?”
“We are buying a old church.” The silence was as they say deafening. The group shuffled into their cars and played follow the leader all the way to Fort Erie for a secretly scheduled walk through of the property. By the time the tour was over, everyone could see the potential and the vision for a community space that would be an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment.
