Unfortunately with us starting our move soon it wouldn’t be fair to this beautiful boy to come here but we are hoping that if enough people share his story he will find the perfect home and live a beautiful life
*** UPDATE: Chance has been given more time. He has a leet and greet next week with Lauren Pettit and we hope it does well. There have also been 2 rescues who are trying to help out as well (unsure who)** so far he is SAFE**
🚨 SECOND CHANCE NEEDED FOR CHANCE
📍 Mississauga, ON
⏳ At risk of euthanasia – Friday, February 20, 2026
Mississauga Animal Services is urgently seeking an experienced adopter or ethical rescue for Chance before this Friday.
Chance was heartbreakingly found muzzled and tied to a tree in a local park. Despite everything he’s been through, he is still here trying.
He is a neutered male, approximately 3–8 years old, 90+ lbs, and a powerful American Bulldog.
Because the shelter is currently at maximum capacity, dogs with behavioural needs, even those working hard and improving, are at risk.
Here’s what you need to know about Chance:
• Takes 2–3 meet & greets to feel safe with new people
• Has completed 3 professional training sessions for stranger reactivity and did wonderfully
• Will require one final session with his adopter to ensure a smooth transition
• Dog-friendly and greets other dogs nicely on leash
• Athletic, playful, loves toys
• Once he trusts you, he becomes a giant cuddle bug who thinks he’s a lap dog
• Needs an adult-only home
• Requires an experienced owner familiar with powerful bully or mastiff breeds
• Currently walked using a gentle leader while continuing leash training
Chance is not a “walk in and take him home” dog — but he IS a dog who bonds deeply once he feels safe.
He deserves someone patient, experienced, and committed to continuing his training. He deserves stability. He deserves someone who won’t give up on him.

Please share far and wide.
Tag rescues. Tag experienced owners. Cross-post to bully breed groups.
A kennel is not the place where Chance’s story should end.
Let’s help him find his second chance. 🖤
