it will be fun they said…

They were RIGHT!
After a 40hr road trip to our new home in Alberta Cardi P is still being her perfect.

Spoiling her with her favorite treats for the last little leg and she’s the happiest girl 🥰

Who would have thought our best behaved 4 legged freeloader was the pig 😂

Well it’s been 3 weeks in Alberta and the Buckley barn crew that has already made the trip are thriving!

The dogs were a little taken back by Marty our resident moose but they are settling in great and we can’t wait for nicer weather and less snow to start exploring!

Unfortunately with us starting our move soon it wouldn’t be fair to this beautiful boy to come here but we are hoping that if enough people share his story he will find the perfect home and live a beautiful life

*** UPDATE: Chance has been given more time. He has a leet and greet next week with Lauren Pettit and we hope it does well. There have also been 2 rescues who are trying to help out as well (unsure who)** so far he is SAFE**

🚨 SECOND CHANCE NEEDED FOR CHANCE
📍 Mississauga, ON
⏳ At risk of euthanasia – Friday, February 20, 2026

Mississauga Animal Services is urgently seeking an experienced adopter or ethical rescue for Chance before this Friday.

Chance was heartbreakingly found muzzled and tied to a tree in a local park. Despite everything he’s been through, he is still here trying.

He is a neutered male, approximately 3–8 years old, 90+ lbs, and a powerful American Bulldog.

Because the shelter is currently at maximum capacity, dogs with behavioural needs, even those working hard and improving, are at risk.

Here’s what you need to know about Chance:
• Takes 2–3 meet & greets to feel safe with new people
• Has completed 3 professional training sessions for stranger reactivity and did wonderfully
• Will require one final session with his adopter to ensure a smooth transition
• Dog-friendly and greets other dogs nicely on leash
• Athletic, playful, loves toys
• Once he trusts you, he becomes a giant cuddle bug who thinks he’s a lap dog
• Needs an adult-only home
• Requires an experienced owner familiar with powerful bully or mastiff breeds
• Currently walked using a gentle leader while continuing leash training
Chance is not a “walk in and take him home” dog — but he IS a dog who bonds deeply once he feels safe.

He deserves someone patient, experienced, and committed to continuing his training. He deserves stability. He deserves someone who won’t give up on him.

If you are an experienced owner, foster, or ethical rescue that can step up:

⭐️Petfinder Listing for Chance in Comments

Please share far and wide.
Tag rescues. Tag experienced owners. Cross-post to bully breed groups.

A kennel is not the place where Chance’s story should end.

Let’s help him find his second chance. 🖤

My special boys 🥰

Lloyd is still learning how to fit into our pack but with his best buddy Ragnar he is learning how to fit in and be a part of the family.

Lloyd still has a long way to go but with love, training and guidance he is moving mountains.

We are taking it slow with Sir Lloyd and our big fur babies as they are not used to little dogs, especially this sweet little mutant gargoyle but my special boy Ragnar has warmed up to him pretty quickly.

Ragnar is our special needs boy who has a severe brain injury from when he was a puppy.
With Lloyd’s friendship and encouragement Rags has started playing with him and toys which he has never done!

Watching their bond grow is literally one of the reasons I do this.

I’m so lucky to have such an incredible family and the most amazing rescues so I get to have this joy every day!

Wellllll S**T 😂 We did it again!

Remember Lloyd?
Well since returning to us and being in at least 2 rescues and at least 3 times something has changed.

Lloyd has worked harder than he should have had to and has finally learned to trust, love, respect and most importantly to relax 😂

He has truly transformed himself and by doing so has tricked all of us crazy Buckleys into falling for him (even the big boss man) and knowing he is exactly where he belongs.

Yup! Lloyd is the newest member of the furever Buckley Barn Family!

They say you can’t buy love…

So we will just rescue it 😉

Lloyd was loving the sunshine today and getting to play outside without freezing his toesies off!

He is still not convinced that a kong is not a great tug of war toy so i have to resort to being sneaky lol
