Last night’s workshop was colourful and fun! Participants had the opportunity to make coloured clay with Mason Stains - the mood was adventurous, and we had so much fun talking about the endless options that Mason Stains and coloured clay provides. Thanks to Steph for teaching our workshop! Amazing “mystery” workshop with JL tonight! Guild members were guided through the process of making a two-piece, slab-built bowl using plaster forms. The finished pieces looked amazing!!!

Amazing two-part “mystery” workshop last night with

Participants first threw with coils on the wheel, for those that 'cannot' throw on the wheel. The process combines coil pots that you build directly on the wheel head. Once coils are smoothed, one can then turn the wheel on to thin the walls out and make throwing lines.

The second part was making aluminum-foiled balloon-pop-pots. First a slab was rolled with bits of aluminum foil. Participants then removed all the metal from the clay surface to create texture. The clay was then draped over an inflated balloon. The piece was then shaped, refined and a coil foot was attached.
