The Sparwood Futures Society has been instrumental the creation of a number of successful Sparwood projects including the Mountain Shadows Campground, Lilac Terrace and most recently the Sparwood Water Park. The Sparwood Futures Society is made up of: Sparwood & District Chamber of Commerce, Sparwood Lions Club, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, The Knights of Columbus, Coal Miners Days Society & The Sparwood Legion.

🌲 Mountain Shadows Campground is Hiring for the 2026 Season! 🌲

Love working outdoors and being part of a great team? The campground is now hiring for a variety of seasonal positions!

Available roles include:
• Office Staff - guest check-ins, reservations, payments, concession sales
• Groundskeeper - site cleaning, outdoor maintenance, minor repairs
• Cleaner - washrooms/showers, office, common areas
• Wood splitters - firewood processing

Whether you enjoy working with people, keeping sites spotless, or getting your hands dirty outdoors, we’d love to hear from you!

Customer service and outdoor labour experience are assets.

Love the outdoors and working with people? Mountain Shadows Campground is looking for a reliable, hands-on Campground Manager to help run day-to-day operations and maintain a welcoming, clean, and well-cared-for campground.

This role is perfect for someone who:

✔ Doesn’t mind light maintenance and outdoor work

The Sparwood Museum hosted author Tom Langford last night to a full house at the Senior’s Drop in Centre. Tom discussed his book The Lights on the Tipple Are Going Out, during which he shared his knowledge, took questions and asked questions to an engaging audience.
We would like to thank Tom Langford for his talk and generous donation to the Sparwood Museum, the Future’s Society for the funding to book a larger venue, Lois Halko selling out the books Tom had brought for purchase and Terry Hume for his assistance!
Thank you to everyone who came out.
