Is anyone interested in getting involved with Everyone Plays?? Time commitment would be minimal - just one Zoom or in-person meeting (at the pub?!) every few months. We're looking for used sports/play equipment - basketballs, soccer balls, mats, boxes, wobble discs, etc. Please let me know if you're spring cleaning and getting rid of any of these things! Thank you!! 🙏

The Spring pilot session is full - I'm so excited to play and move with a great group of kiddos. The plan is to open up more sessions, including an age 7-9 group, in the Fall so please follow this space for updates.

Everyone Plays will be running its first group starting in April:
For kids aged 5-7
Mondays, 4-5pm
April 13 - June 1 (excluding May 18)
Held at Max Turyk (starting in the gym)
7 sessions for $50

Hello! My name is Kate - I am the person behind Everyone Plays Fernie. I am a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor here in Fernie (I own Mountain Life Movement), and have a special interest in promoting healthy movement. I was a gymnast in my life before physiotherapy, and know first-hand the amazing things that sport and being a part of a sports community can offer. Like everything these days, however, the sports world has become a complicated place. I am concerned about the increasing emphasis on competition and results, and the decreasing emphasis on play, sportsmanship and healthy habits. Everyone Plays is my attempt to provide more of these things in the Elk Valley, in an accessible way.

Hi Elk Valley friends! Welcome to Everyone Plays Fernie. This organization has come from a lot of thought about what's missing in kids sports in North America in general at the moment - play, variety, experimentation, and an emphasis on sportsmanship and inclusivity. There is no shortage of fantastic sports opportunities and sport leaders in our town - how lucky we are. My intention with Everyone Plays is to provide some options for young kids that are non-competitive, inexpensive, and that emphasize play, connection, and healthy movement.
