Did you know?
EVFS housing is delivered through specific programs, each with its own eligibility requirements and guidelines set by BC Housing.
This means that not every unit or property will be the right fit for every applicant β and that's okay! Each program is designed with a particular type of household in mind, whether that's seniors, families, individuals with low-to-moderate incomes, or those transitioning out of difficult situations.
Because each program follows a required formula to remain sustainable and compliant with BC Housing, we aren't able to change unit types or move housing between programs β even when we wish we could.
Here's a quick look at the types of housing EVFS currently offers:
π Rent Geared to Income (RGI) β rent is calculated based on your household income, making it accessible for those who qualify
π’ Affordable / Market-Rate Housing β for individuals and families with low-to-moderate incomes who may not qualify for subsidized housing
π΄ Seniors & Accessible Housing β safe, affordable units designed for residents 55+ or those living with a disability
π€ Second Stage Housing β private, secure, low-cost units for women and children who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing violence
If the current available unit isn't the right match for your household, we encourage you to still reach out β we're happy to add you to our waitlist and make sure you're considered when the right opportunity comes up.
