Dance and Heart Dance and Heart is a Centre Wellington-based company creating “ballet illusions”—blending dance theatre with wild imagination.

We are proudly anti-perfectionist, valuing heart, story, and honesty over polish. At Dance and Heart, we create worlds that pulse with imagination. We reimagine traditional stories through a lens of mystery, wildness, and wonder. We call it a ballet illusion — where the lines between fantasy and reality blur, and movement becomes magic. We are a growing collective of dancers, dreamers, and makers, committed to crafting meaningful, never-seen-before stage experiences.

Let's go! The countdown is on for our beautiful instructor and mentor to join us in Ontario for her signature style, presence, and energy! A lifelong learner of Modern Dance, she is a unique artist and will be running her workshops in the morning June 15-19th. This is a big push, and will take you to new heights as a dancer!

🌀👯‍♀️This intensive is for dancers who want more than steps. It’s for artists who want to deepen their technique while also deepening their connection to themselves and their community. Modern dance teaches resilience through adaptability — how to recover, respond, ground, release, and keep moving truthfully. Through training, reflection, and shared experience, we build stronger artists from the inside out.

🌀👯‍♀️Modern technique develops more than physicality. It strengthens musicality, presence, adaptability, coordination, emotional range, and trust in your own instincts as an artist. Through daily movement and self-actualization practices, dancers are encouraged to reconnect to themselves while building meaningful relationships in community. Showing up for yourself becomes easier when you’re surrounded by people doing the same.

Our 2026 season has begun! Congratulations to all who auditioned (and have yet to in our second round!). This audition was an incredible mark for us:

1. The first audition we've had in our new space (AHH)

2. The beginning of a milestone project, Swan Lake (WHATTT)

3. The most difficult choreography presented in an audition thus far. Incorporating floor work, theatrical work, turns, and intricate musicality. It felt very special and everyone rising to the challenge was the cherry on top! Well done. Thank you to .of.kweenz for capturing, and .clarke_arts .wich
