And that's a wrap on Little Women performed by the Monday night group of CWCDC!

4 amazing performances, lots of laughs, many tears, and all around big feels for this cast of Little Women.

There was so much heart in each scene, and we couldn't be more proud of the kids for their performances!

Thank you to all who came to watch, to the parents who made it all happen , the actors and actresses who put their heart into each moment and Little Women's director Katy for guiding them on their drama journey!

It was an incredible experience to be part of and we're already excited for what's in store for next year!

Anya says she loves the experience of working alongside talented people and that Little Women's message about perseverance and the power of family is what makes it so special.

Maribelle McBroom ~ Mrs. Kirke
Maribelle is one of CWCDC’s busiest performers, having played Queen Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mrs Darling in Peter Pan, and Alice and the Seven of Heart in Alice in Wonderland. Her additional stage credits include Twelfth Night, King Lear, Much Ado About Nothing, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Miracle on 34th Street, The Grinch, and Matilda Jr. When she's not rehearsing, Maribelle practises Highland dancing and loves spending time with friends. She says that challenging herself is what she loves most about acting.

Lily ~ Our alumni actor of CWDC has been volunteering this year, sharing her expertise & guidance, helping our cast members whom are from grades 4 through 8, prepare to shine on stage!

Katy Chapman ~ Director
Katy Chapman is an actress, director, singer, and overall lover of the arts. She graduated from the University of Windsor’s BFA in Acting (Honours) program and has gone on to work in both the professional and community spheres. This is her fourth year with the Centre Wellington Children’s Drama Club. All her love to the amazing Monday night cast and crew, to her friends and family, and to the one who believes in her most.

Eden Marshall-Jeenes ~ Adult Amy
Eden is so excited to be joining CWCDC for the first time in Little Women. She has previously performed in three productions at school: Matilda, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. Outside of theatre, Eden plays softball, paddle boards, bakes, and loves spending time at the cottage with friends and family. She hopes one day to be a chef. Eden says that she loves working with her cast mates, that she has truly found her people, and that everyone in the group can be dramatic in a good way. Her favourite part is her role as adult Amy.

Alissa Matthews ~ Mrs Gardiner
Alissa is delighted to be back on stage with CWCDC, having previously played Mrs Darling and a Lost Girl/Mermaid in Peter Pan and both the Cheshire Cat and Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland. She has also appeared as Razzle Dazzle the Elf with Elora Community Theatre's production of The Grinch, The Panto. Outside the theatre, Alissa plays volleyball. She loves meeting new people through acting and is drawn to the historical world of Little Women. She lives by the words of Vincent Van Gogh: "I would rather die of passion than boredom."

Eric Lombard ~ Mr. March
Eric has built an impressive résumé with CWCDC, playing Francis Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Peter in Peter Pan, and Tweedle Dee in Alice in Wonderland. Offstage, Eric makes movies, draws, reads, plays soccer, and spends time with his dog Rosie. He says that acting has given him a deep appreciation for everything that goes into a major production and that the deeper meaning of Little Women is what excites him most.

Colin Lombard ~ Professor Bhaer
Colin is delighted to return to the CWCDC stage after playing Tweedle Dum and the Three of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. He loves soccer, swimming, watching TV, and staying active outdoors. Colin says his favourite part of every production is the camaraderie with the cast, and he is very much looking forward to his favourite line: "Ach, mein gott!"

Madeleine Burke ~ Beth
Madeleine returns to the CWCDC stage after appearing as Dormouse and Dodo in Alice in Wonderland last year and as Wendy and a Lost Girl in Peter Pan in 2024. Outside of theatre, she plays piano, takes Mandarin lessons, and is active in art and dance. She also treasures quiet moments with her hamster, Cinnamon. Madeleine says acting makes her feel completely free and likes how she can step into a character's world and feel their heart. Her most emotional moment in the show? Beth's final scene.

Scarlett England ~ Sallie Gardiner
Scarlett has been a joyful presence in CWCDC’s productions, playing a fairy in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Michael and Jane in Peter Pan, and both Dormouse and Lori in Alice in Wonderland. She loves being creative and spending time with friends. Scarlett says that being on stage has helped build her confidence and that she’s made some really great friends through a shared joy of acting. What she loves most about Little Women: the costumes are really, really fun.

Ida Bolger ~ Aunt March
Little Women is Ida's first production with CWCDC, and she already wishes she'd joined sooner. When she's not rehearsing, she listens to music, watches true crime and ghost hunting videos on YouTube, and enjoys texting her friends. Ida loves that acting gives her the freedom to express herself in a big, public way; something everyday life rarely allows. Her favourite thing about Little Women is watching the characters' relationships come alive in unexpected ways.

Emmett Christopher ~ Mr Lawrence
Emmett is back for another round with CWCDC after playing the Executioner and the Duck in Alice in Wonderland last year. He also appeared with the Elora Community Theatre in Miracle on 34th Street and as Pax the Dog in The Grinch, The Panto. Offstage, Emmett enjoys curling and playing drums and hockey, but not simultaneously. Emmett is also a devoted fan of Survivor. He is particularly excited to play both an old grandpa and an annoying parrot in Little Women (but not simultaneously).

That’s a wrap for Cruisin’ and the Tuesday night Drama Club! 🎭

Two shows today, and all the kids did absolutely awesome — two strong performances to end the season on a high note.

The cast celebrated afterwards with many bittersweet emotions. Some kids are aging out of the club as they head into Grade 9 next year, many are sad the season is over, and it was also Gerard Gouthro’s final season as Director.

Thank you to Gerard for 20 incredible years and for everything you’ve done for CWCDC.

Thank you as well to everyone who helps make it all possible — our stage crew, tech team, parent volunteers and all those who work behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

Centre Wellington is so fortunate to have this Children’s Drama Club for students in Grades 4–8, and all of us who get to watch these kids grow and learn each year. So many friendships made and cherished memories.

To anyone in the community who supported the CWCDC, shared a post, hung a poster, bought a ticket — thank you, we appreciate you.

Until next season! 💗
