Today, we honour the thousands of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Veterans who have served with courage and dedication.

On National Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize the service and sacrifices of Indigenous Peoples during the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War and in times of conflict and peace since then. Your contributions have played a key role in defending the freedom of our country.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the unveiling of the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument in Ottawa, Ontario. The Monument reflects the unique heritage, diverse cultures and lasting contributions of Indigenous Peoples.

Our Seniors Month Tea was held on Thursday with lively entertainment provided by the ReUnion Choir. Delicious cake by Kathy Mark & Fenelon Falls Sobeys was served by an energetic & cheery group of volunteers. Lots of great chatter by our lovely guests was heard throughout the room as bidding was taking place on donated silent auction items. Much appreciation goes out to all our volunteers from setup to takedown & everything in between. Thank you to Laurie Scott, Mike Perry, Councillor - Ward 3 & Donna Lynn Clarke for joining us.

The hall was buzzing today as volunteers prepared for tomorrow’s Senior’s Month Tea & Silent Auction.
And more auction items continued to arrive. We have golf packages from Sturgeon Point Golf Club, Brynell Golf Club, and Oliver's Nest Golf Club, a dock ladder from Naylor Systems, theatre tickets from Globus Theatre & The Grove Theatre, gift certificates for stores, pedicures, hair styling, & scenic boat tours with Liftlock and The River Boat Cruises & so much more! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for tea, coffee, cake & wonderful entertainment with the Reunion Choir!
