Our non-profit organization is a wonderful collection of firefighting memorabilia and equipment for all to enjoy, learn and honour. We are open to the public on the weekends during the warmer months, and we offer private and groups tours all year. Admission is by donation only, and all donations are greatly appreciated! It is with your help that we can offer our services to the community and gener

al public through holiday parades and information sessions! Some of our collection has been donated by community members, businesses and fire stations. We also have displayed items, and a fire engine, that have been on loan from individual owners. Anyone wishing to donate an item, or wish to display an item in a safe environment, please contact a member of our Executive Team.

Today was a wonderful day!
We had funds left over from our closure and a decision was made to donate it all to one deserving group!
So I got to meet Linda, Brenda, Nick and Johnny from Atlantic Burn Camp in Cape Breton and gave them a cheque!
The kids are going to be able to do lots of things with $34,750!! 🥳👨‍🚒

FAREWELL AND THANK YOU

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the official closing of the Regional Firefighters Interpretation Center. We have made the decision to close, due to an impossible situation with the building's landlord.
We would like to thank all of the people and organizations that have supported us over the years, including all of our two and three wheeled "family", who have been storing with us these last few years.
Our collection will be put in storage for possible further use, with the help from Jeff Brown with the Halifax Fire Historical Society.
If you need to send any mail correspondence, please send it in care of President, Dave Dodsworth.

Our website, email and pages will remain active throughout our transition and we will be providing occasional updates.

Again, we thank all of our supporters, visitors, family and friends, and we wish you the best.

International Firefighters' Day: Celebrating 25 Years of Honoring Fire Service Heroes

On May 4 communities worldwide come together to celebrate International Firefighters' Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the bravery, sacrifices, and tireless efforts of firefighters everywhere.

This year marks a significant milestone – the 25th anniversary since the proposal of International Firefighters' Day in 1999. What began as a local initiative in Australia has grown into a global movement, uniting firefighters, their families, and communities in a shared spirit of appreciation and gratitude.

Today, we honor the courage, dedication, and selflessness of firefighters who put their lives on the line every day to protect others. We also remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and we recommit to supporting the fire service community in their vital work.

To mark this occasion, fire departments, community groups, and individuals are organizing events, ceremonies, and tributes to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of firefighters. These events include memorial services, parades, open houses, and fundraising campaigns for local fire departments and fire-related charities.

Join us in celebrating the heroism and spirit of firefighters everywhere on International Firefighters' Day.
