Heinz and Len got a logging truck of mixed larch and fir delivered today and will start bucking up the logs.

If you’re interested in a cord, the price per cord is $230.00 and includes delivery to your residence.

They will deliver to individuals as far as they can back up with the trailer. They already have a number of people that have ordered in advance, so the remainder will be first come first served.

If you’re interested, send a message and we’ll get back to you with payment details.

Halloween is nearly upon us and we would like to share some tips on how to avoid inviting a bear for Halloween. Like most fruits and berries, bears are attracted to pumpkins. Like any attractant, please do not leave them outside, especially at night.

1) It is best to bring your pumpkin inside at night and keep it in a cool place.
2) Avoid carving your pumpkin too early as this will accelerate its decomposition and increase its odour.
3) Discard your pumpkin in a responsible manner once Halloween is over.

Have a WildSafe Halloween!

We have received another Alert, this time for an injured/ distressed black bear. According to our WildsafeBC Co-ordinator who was here door-knocking today to assist with reducing human-wildlife conflicts, lots of people are seeing a sow with a white diamond on her chest who is highly habituated and has a cub with her who is still quite skittish. She asks that if you do see any bears out and about, please keep the negative reinforcement going and try to deter them away using loud noise or lights. It is impossible to keep them away from the area because of the sheer abundance of foods in the form of chokecherries and other crabapples etc., but if we can try to reinforce that they need to stay away from people that is beneficial. They are out during the day too which indicates they are in full hyperphagia, eating like crazy to try to pack on the pounds. This is when conflict is most likely to occur. If you do see a bear or other wildlife, it can be reported to https://warp.wildsafebc.com/warp/
