A THANKSGIVING FEAST, YWS STYLE!

A huge thank you to the Pinball Clemons Foundation for joining us this week to serve up a special Thanksgiving dinner for our youth!
We put our own spin on the traditional holiday meal with jerk chicken, rice, mac and cheese, cornbread, coleslaw, fresh fruit, cookies, and refreshing drinks. A delicious feast shared with an incredible team!

Thank you to the Pinball Clemons Foundation for spending time with our youth and helping make this Thanksgiving one to remember. We’re grateful for your continued support and the community you help us build!

This World Mental Health Day, we’re recognizing the importance of making mental health support accessible to every young person.
At Youth Without Shelter, mental wellness is an important part of helping youth build stability, confidence, and a future they feel good about.

This past year, our Mental Health and Youth Engagement programs made an impact through:
• 146 youth served
• 599 meetings held
• 164 youth engagement and recreation activities

We’re grateful to our staff, supporters, and community partners who help make this support possible. Thank you for standing beside our youth on their individual journeys to greatness!

Here's an update from our Executive Director, Steve Doherty, from our site visit yesterday to our latest housing project in Rexdale - the Wardlaw Residences! This 51-unit supportive housing building, created in response to the local housing crisis, is a game changer for our community.

Thank you to everyone who has worked on this project with us so far.
We’re excited to see Wardlaw taking shape and look forward to welcoming its future residents!

Please join us in officially welcoming Selena, our new Registered Psychotherapist, to the YWS team!

Selena joined our Mental Health Program earlier this year, providing compassionate, trauma-informed support to our YWS youth. Our Mental Health Program offers individualized care and a range of therapeutic approaches. Youth can access psychiatric care, substance use supports, and referrals for family reunification services where safe and appropriate.
We’re so excited to have Selena on the team and to have her bring her experience, compassion, and care to the young people we serve.

A little about Selena, in her own words:
“Hey! I'm Selena, the Psychotherapist at Youth Without Shelter, and I joined the YWS team earlier this year. Before coming to YWS, I worked in mental health and community-based settings, and I was drawn to YWS because of the opportunity to support youth during such an important time in their lives. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the residents and staff and being part of a team that takes a holistic approach to supporting young people. So far, my experience at YWS has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to continue growing in my role and contributing to the mental health and well-being of the youth we serve.”

Why support a small, local organization?

When you support Youth Without Shelter, your contribution stays close to home, and the impact is personal.

As a community-based organization serving youth ages 16–24 in North Etobicoke, we can respond quickly to emerging needs, build meaningful relationships with youth, and work closely with local businesses, schools, and community partners.

Your support can provide a meal, furnish a young person’s first apartment, support mental health care, or help deliver individualized programming.
