This August, YWS is raising $25,000 for Futures of Tomorrow to support the young people in our Stay In School program as they work toward graduation and their goals beyond it.

Supporting a student means more than just providing a safe place to sleep. It means helping them get to class, balance a part-time job or co-op, access mental health and life skills supports, prepare for their next steps, and have the stability they need to focus on their future.

A very special gift is taking root at YWS 🪴
One of our supporters donated something incredibly meaningful to our youth: their personal seed bank, filled with seeds collected and saved over time. Our youth got their hands in the soil and planted them just in time for fall blooms!
And now... we wait... 😁
We can’t wait to watch these little seeds grow - and see what our youth grow alongside them!

A huge thank you to the Pinball Foundation for treating our youth to an incredible dinner this week!
The menu featured delicious jerk chicken, rice, coleslaw, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, cornbread, fresh fruit, and cookies. 🤩 We're so grateful for community partners like the Pinball Clemons Foundation who continue to show up for our youth through their generosity and kindness. Thank you for helping create a welcoming space where young people can enjoy a great meal and feel supported by their community.

Round two of Life Skills kitchen classes at W. D. Colledge was a success!
Our Stay In School (SIS) youth were back in the kitchen this week, building on the skills they learned during their first class. This time, they mastered the basics of making homemade pizza dough and pie crust from scratch!
A huge thank you to W. D. Colledge for continuing to invest in our youth and for providing such a welcoming space to learn, grow, and have fun. We can't wait to see what we'll be cooking up next!

This August, Youth Without Shelter is inviting our community to invest in the Futures of Tomorrow and support the young people in our Stay in School (SIS) program.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 before the end of August to ensure youth have the individualized support and materials they need to stay in school, pursue their goals, and build the futures they’ve been working so hard to achieve.

Our students are future nurses, electricians, entrepreneurs, artists, and skilled tradespeople. Like their peers, they’re balancing classes with part-time jobs, co-op placements, internships, volunteer opportunities, extracurricular activities, and planning for life after graduation. The difference is that they’re doing it while overcoming challenges no young person should have to face alone.

At Youth Without Shelter, we provide more than a safe place to stay. We provide the stability, guidance, and one-on-one support that allows young people to keep moving forward. From nutritious meals and mental health care to life skills, employment support, and academic planning – our caring staff walk alongside them every step of the way. We work to remove barriers so youth can focus on what matters most: their future.

Every dollar helps a young person continue their educational journey. Together, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and rise toward a brighter future.

A big thank you to Marsh Canada for this thoughtful donation!
It may still be summer, but we're already getting ready for the new school year in our Stay In School program. These pencil cases will be PERFECT for our resident youth heading back to class this Sept!

Nothing says summer like a BBQ shared with great people!
A heartfelt thank you to Elevation Church for joining us once again as our Chef for the Day during their annual LOVE Week. Every year, their team volunteers their time to give back to the community, and we're so grateful they chose to spend part of their week with us.

Our youth enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner featuring burgers, hot dogs, fresh salads, fruit, snacks, cookies, and refreshing drinks. It was the perfect meal for a summer evening!

Thank you, Elevation Church, for your continued partnership, generosity, and for helping make our youth feel so cared for.
We look forward to welcoming you back again next year!

Ice cream, sunshine, and community... what more could you ask for?
Yesterday, our Board of Directors hosted their annual "Ice Cream Night", bringing together youth, staff, and board members for an evening of connection and fun. With perfect summer weather, sweet treats and Jenga, it was the perfect opportunity to slow down and enjoy each other's company.
We’re so grateful to our Board for continuing this tradition and creating meaningful moments that bring our YWS community together. Events like these remind us that community is built not only through the support we provide, but through the relationships we build along the way.

We're excited to kick off a brand-new partnership that's already making a meaningful impact!
Recently, youth from our Stay In School (SIS) program attended their very first Life Skills session at W. D. Colledge, where they learned the fundamentals of budget-friendly grocery shopping before rolling up their sleeves to cook a delicious pasta meal together.
We're incredibly grateful to W. D. Colledge for opening their kitchen to our youth. In addition to hosting these hands-on cooking classes, the team also generously prepares and donates meals to YWS, making them an amazing partner in so many ways!
We'll be visiting W. D. Colledge every other Tuesday throughout the year, giving our youth the opportunity to build their confidence in the kitchen, try new recipes, and develop lifelong skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Thank you, W. D. Colledge, for investing in our youth and helping them build brighter, healthier futures.
We can't wait to see what we'll cook up next!
