On June 10 the Gr.1 class from Evanview joined the GT FOD 20/30 class. Our highschool students are working on Food for Life's Stages and prepared a variety of "from scratch" snacks for the younger kids to try. It encouraged the Gr.1 kids to try new things while giving the highschool kids a chance to truly understand how to successfully cook for young children. We love the community we are building between our older students and the younger students. Thanks to everyone who helped out and to Mrs. Schatz and Mrs. Jones for organizing this at Grand Trunk High School

We managed to sneak the Track and Field Day in on Friday and only had to take one rain break. Thanks to Wildwood School for joining us for the day. We also want to thank Mrs. Morrison for organizing the day and Mrs. Schatz for looking after the concession. It was a great day and we hope everyone had a lot of fun and maybe made a new friend.

The Grade 6s went on their annual trip to Camp Yowochas for two days. Each student was able to challenge themselves with various activities including archery, canoeing, low ropes, rock climbing, survivor, and swing by choice. It was a blast and a fun way to celebrate the end of their elementary years!

Last week was the last day for Junior Kindergarten so the JK and K students spent a little time outside on the playground. It's amazing to have the privilege of watching our youngest students change and grow over the school year. If you are ever having a rough day I hope you get the chance to visit a JK/K classroom. They will make you smile and you are going to leave with a whole new outlook on life.

Our grade 3/4 class has been learning about the lifecycle of plants and finished their unit by digging up some of the tulip bulbs in front of the school. These bulbs will be moved to various flower beds around GT to help bring a little piece of our school’s history with us. The students had so much fun digging in the dirt and doing some hands on learning.
