The Amber Underwood Memorial News Competition invites 4-H youth to interview a volunteer and write a news-style report of up to 500 words about why they choose to give their time to 4-H.

You do not need to be an experienced writer to enter. Bring your curiosity, ask thoughtful questions and share the volunteer’s story in your own words!

Two $250 prizes are available:

🍀 Junior category: Ages 9–14
🍀 Senior category: Ages 15–21

Registration for Temiskaming 4-H Discovery Day is now live! Just click the link to sign up.

This free event is open to both members and non-members ages 6-12, but is limited to the first 20 participants. The day will involve icebreakers, activity stations, team games, creative time, and lunch. All will take place on August 29th from 10:30-2:30 at the Kerns Hall.

Scholarship opportunity for First Nations youth in 4-H! 🍀

First Nations Agriculture & Finance Ontario, also known as FNAFO, offers a $1,000 scholarship to support and inspire the next generation of First Nations farmers in Ontario.

This scholarship is open to youth who:
🍀 Identify as a member of a First Nations community in Ontario
🍀 Are enrolled in a university, college, or trade program
🍀 Are a current or past 4-H participant for a minimum of two years
🍀 Are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture

There’s still time to enter the 4-H Ontario Provincial Virtual Judging Competition. Complete it from home, put your judging skills to the test and represent your 4-H Association at the provincial level. 🍀

Virtual Judging may still be an option! Check with your 4-H Association to see if participation in the Provincial Virtual Judging Competition can be used as a substitute.

A little glimpse of the green adventures waiting in Ireland! ☘️

From beautiful parks and historic landmarks to Irish farms and new friendships, the 4-H Canada International Exchange will be filled with unforgettable experiences.

4-H Ontario has six spots available for youth ages 17–21.

📅 Dates: May 14–21, 2027
Travel dates may vary by approximately one day depending on available flight paths.

💰 Cost: $2,000 CAD, plus flights, travel insurance and additional spending money for souvenirs and other personal expenses.
