🏆 PROVINCIAL 1ST PLACE FOR HAVEN!🏆

Deep Creek Dairy 4-H Club is incredibly proud of member Haven, who earned 1st Place in the 2026 Provincial Special Topic Educational Display Contest with her digital poster! 🥇🎉

Haven’s digital poster idea came from the 4-H’s - Hands, Heart, Head and Health and how to put the pledge in action. With small actions comes big impact!

Haven is someone who always gives her all to every project she takes on, and this achievement is a wonderful reflection of her hard work, dedication and willingness to keep learning.

Congratulations, Haven! We’re so proud to have you as part of Deep Creek Dairy 4-H Club. ❤️🐄 Also a big high five to all the participants of the contest. The webinar was very engaging and Haven said she learned some new information from it.

🥇📚 Way to go, Haven!

🐄 Fair #2 — here we come!🎡

We’re getting ready for the Salmon Arm Fair, and our Dairy Project members Haven, Kenzie and Karis have been hard at work getting their stall ready for their heifers to arrive! 💪🐮

They worked together as a team, helping each other get everything set up and ready to go. Fairs are definitely a LOT of hard work, but everything is just a little easier — and a lot more fun — when you have great 4-H members working together. ❤️

We’re so excited to be part of our local fair and can’t wait to see our members, their animals and all their hard work on display!

Bring on Fair number 2! 🎉🐄

THANK YOU FARM CREDIT CANADA!

Achievement Day is only about a month away, and our Dairy, Poultry, Dog, Veterinary Science, and Cloverbud members have been working incredibly hard! We're so proud of their positive attitudes, dedication, and all the time they've put into their projects.

A very special thank you to Farm Credit Canada for their generous FCC 4-H Club Fund grant, which helped make 4-H more accessible for our members. Your support helped youth grow, learn, and succeed! 💚
We can't wait to share more of our 4-H journey as we head into fair season!

🍀🎵 “Because you’re mine, I walk the line…” 🎵🍀
The dairy crew is walking the line tonight! 🌧️🐄

4-H dairy project members Kaelen, Sabrina, Kiana, and Haven had their girls🐄 lined up and ready to work, even with dark clouds rolling in and rain threatening to pour. Around here, training treats are earned — and that means standing nicely, practicing patience, and walking the line first.

Anemone, Neon, Alpine, and Artemis all did a great job today! 💚Alpine and Artemis are our younger heifer calves and are still learning the ropes (getting used to those leather halters 🐮). Meanwhile, Anemone and Neon acted like total pros — clearly all that practice from last year paid off!

Rain or shine, these members keep showing up, putting in the work, and building confidence one practice at a time. 🌦️✨

🐔🖤 4-H Poultry Project Update 🖤🐔
Our poultry project members are making great progress this year! From learning proper handling techniques to building confidence around their birds, it has been wonderful to watch their skills grow with each practice.
One of the best parts of poultry practice is the time spent bonding with the birds afterward. After all the hard work is done, there's often time for a few chicken hugs! 💕
In this photo, Kiana is spending some quality time with Ayam Cemani, a rare breed originally from Indonesia that is known for its striking all-black appearance. From its feathers to its beak and even its feet, this unique breed is truly something special!
We are proud of the dedication, patience, and care our members are showing as they learn more about poultry husbandry and animal care. Keep up the great work, everyone! 🐓🌟

Rain or Shine Saturday’s are for calf training at Deep Creek Dairy 4-H club. It was raining but after it let up a while, indoor training moved outdoor. Karis and her calf Apollo are learning to walk quite nicely. Karis is walking Apollo on different surfaces so that she’ll be okay walking on whatever type of surface is available come fair time. ☔️🌦️☀️🐄🍀 #4-H

Kenzie, Kiana, Haven, and Karis have been doing an incredible job halter training their dairy calves. These four girls have shown amazing patience, dedication, and outstanding husbandry skills every step of the way. 💚

This summer, our 4-H Dairy project members will proudly show their calves at local fairs, and thanks to WestGen’s support, they’re gaining valuable experience and growing into the next generation of young leaders in the dairy industry. 🐮✨
