The future of the HRSA is on the agenda! At this years AGM, we will be having an important discussion about the Association moving towards becoming a Recreation Association, what that could look like, what it means for our organization and area, and where go from here. Here we go! A few more dates that we could use some volunteers for. Here’s the details:

Saturday Sept. 19: Meet at the Main Chalet to start for 9:30AM, so everyone heads up on their own time. 4x4 vehicle recommended, or head up on a UTV/ATV as it’s 24KM’s of FSR. The plan is to cut, split and stack firewood that we have piled up outside, clean the Chalet & area, as well as possibly installing some new solar components.

Sunday Oct. 4: 9AM meet at the 10KM junction of Kingfisher/Cooke Creek where our HRSA info kiosk is (off 3 Valley Gap/Noisy Creek FSR). This is accessible ONLY by UTV, ATV, SXS, or a high clearance & VERY capable 4X4 vehicle. We are heading up to the Gordon Sidney Cabin via Cooke Creek to cut, split, and stack firewood, as well as install a new wood stove and do some clean up in & around the cabin. It’ll be a great time!

Our 2026 AGM & Dinner Social is coming up Friday, September 25! Join us at the Grindrod Community Hall for a great evening of food, socializing, and some important conversations about the future of the HRSA.

And when we say great food, we mean it. Jerky Joe makes one heck of a smoked dinner. If you joined us for the Ladies Ride dinner back in February, you already know you’re in for one of the best meals you’ll put in your mouth! Choose from smoked brisket or chicken, served with sides, non-alcoholic drinks, coffee and tea, all for $35/plate.

Doors open at 5:00 PM, with dinner served from 5:30–6:00 PM. Our AGM will get underway at approximately 6:45 PM.

This year’s AGM will include our Board of Director elections, along with an important conversation about the potential for the HRSA to make the shift toward becoming a broader recreation association. This is a significant discussion about the future direction of our organization, and if you would like to hear more, ask questions, or have your say, we strongly encourage you to attend.

Fall is close… and while that means our winter season is a few short months away now, it also means that it’s time to get to work! Season prep is already underway, and we have some work party dates scheduled.

Sunday, September 13, 8 AM

We are looking for a handful of volunteers to help with some tasks around our groomer shack. We need to:
-service the BR350 and BR400 Snowcats
-finish roofing on structure expansion
-split and stack some firewood
-general clean up and tidying around the area
Lunch is on us if you RSVP!!
Please let us know if you can lend a few hours of your time to help us knock some tasks off the to-do list.

Another investment in the future of the HRSA complete!
The Main Chalet has a brand new roof, but this project represents a lot more than just new tin. As an organized snowmobile club, the HRSA is committed to keeping Hunters Range open, usable, and safe. Not just for snowmobilers, but for all users year round who enjoy this area, and especially for the generations to come.
Managing a recreation area takes year round work. We strive to manage it as sustainably and responsibly as possible, maintaining infrastructure, trails and access while helping ensure this incredible area remains available to multiple user groups. None of it happens for free. Every membership purchased, day pass sold, volunteer hour given, sponsor dollar contributed, donation received and grant awarded is reinvested back into our riding area. Projects like this roof replacement are a perfect example of where that support goes!
We would like to extend a massive thank you to Tonka Contracting for stepping up and taking this project on. Their crew put in some long days on the mountain and managed to completely strip & replace the roof in just one work week. Not only that, they replaced a couple of windows that were overdue for a change out. We couldn’t be happier with their craftsmanship, work ethic and the finished product. Thank you Eric, Blair, Mike & Rick!

And we also would like to thank Recreation Sites and Trails BC for awarding us the funding through the ORV Trail fund, making this project possible. The grant allowed us to contract the entire job rather than relying heavily on volunteer labour. This saved valuable volunteer time and effort that can now be put toward the many other projects required to keep the club operating.

This is what organized recreation looks like behind the scenes and off the snow. Support the club. Support the riding area. Protect the future access.
