The Elora Singers

The Elora Singers is one of Canada's finest professional choirs.

Now in its 47th season, the choir is the ensemble-in-residence of the Elora Festival and presents a regular concert season, in addition to a regular touring and recording schedule.

What an incredible week with our Elora Singers Studio for Ensemble Singing and Conducting! This past week was filled with learning, growth, collaboration, and beautiful music-making. We’re so proud of all the participants and everything they accomplished.

A heartfelt thank you to the Studio Faculty, Molly Netter and Anna Ronai, for the artistry, care, and dedication they brought to the Studio all week long. Your coaching, teaching, and mentorship made this experience truly extraordinary.

And, a special thank you to Tony and Anne Arrell for their generous support of the Studio, and to Chris and Jean Houston for their sponsorship of The Passing of the Year concert. Your support made this incredible week of music-making and learning all possible.

Our Studio participants have been hard at work this week, diving deep into their craft and growing together as an ensemble. From exploring the Alexander Technique with Dan Cabena by focusing on concepts like the “folder shoulder” and finding alignment in a conductor’s posture, to engaging in inspiring masterclasses with soprano Molly Netter and collaborative pianist Anna Ronai, it’s been an intensive and rewarding week of learning.

We can’t wait to share the results of their hard work. Join us tomorrow afternoon for their showcase recital!

This week, our Studio for Ensemble Singing program is in full swing, with participants diving into an intensive and inspiring schedule of artistic growth and collaboration, led by Mark Vuorinen, soprano Molly Netter, and collaborative pianist Anna Ronai.

We are also pleased to invite you to a special free showcase recital this Friday, April 24 at St. John's in Elora. Join us as we celebrate the remarkable progress they've made this week before the participants join The Elora Singers in The Passing of the Year this Sunday.

VENUE CHANGE!

The venue for our final concert of the season, The Passing of the Year on Sunday, April 26 at 4:00PM has changed to St. John's Anglican Church in Elora.

An engineering assessment of the nave of St. George's Anglican Church in Guelph has identified two of the roof trusses to be severely compromised, thus resulting in the nave being closed indefinitely until repairs are completed.

We look forward to welcoming you to Elora for a beautiful spring afternoon of music!

Jonathan Dove’s "The Passing of the Year" is a seven-movement song cycle for double chorus and piano that explores the changing seasons and the passage of time. Featuring poetry by William Blake, Emily Dickinson, Alfred Tennyson, and others, this work reflects on nature’s beauty and life’s impermanence. Dove dedicated this piece to the memory of his mother.

Experience this beautiful piece in our upcoming and final concert of the season, The Passing of the Year.

We had a beautiful concert in Kitchener yesterday; thank you to those who joined us! It was a joy to share so many beautiful works, including a truly moving performance of Mass for the Endangered.

We have one last concert for our 2025-26 season, The Passing of the Year, on Sunday, April 26. We hope you can join us!
