What a great day with the CW Native Plant Gardening team and 13 volunteers who showed up to support the restoration of the Fergus Dog Park this past Saturday!

After pulling invasive Garlic Mustard last spring, the team came back last weekend and planted over 350 native species to prevent the return of the Garlic Mustard. Thanks to Vice Chair of the Grand River Conservation Fund, Carolyn Weatherson, for coming out and to the Grand River Conservation Authority for providing the grant that made this project come to life.

Thanks to all our volunteers who dedicated their time to improving the biodiversity and health of our green spaces! 🐛🐞🌱🌻🌸

Centre Wellington, the municipal election is coming up on October 26th, 2026 🗳️

The Neighbourwoods team sent out 4 questions to each of the mayoral candidates to talk about our green spaces, urban canopy and environmental goals for the future. This initative helps protect native habitats and assists with the continued increase of biodoversity in our community green spaces.

This is a great opportunity to collect volunteer hours, make valuable connections and improve our ecosystems.

Food Forest Centre Wellington is participating in the Rural Romp this coming Saturday from 10:00 - 4:00! Anyone is welcome to come and taste samples of goodies made from our Food Forest produce. We will have fresh chocolate mint to sip as well as an apple press. Feel free to bring a clean container to take home some apple c***r. Also, if anyone has their own surplus of apples or pears you would like pressed, you can bring those too. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.

Join us on Saturday October 3rd from 10:30-12:00 where local tree connoisseur Rob Guthrie will be leading a walk through the Grand River Arboretum. Rob will be identifying many beautiful trees and discussing their growth habits 🌲🍁📝
