Tomorrow! Wednesday, April 29th is a Public Education Day of Action!

What does this mean for OSSTF District 18 Members?

Send your photos to D18 Political Action Officer Amy Reinders ([email protected]) to be entered to win one of at least 20 prizes!

Action 1:
Wear red!

Action 2:

Teachers and education workers across Ontario are coming together.
After weeks of announcements that ignore underfunding, rising violence, and growing class sizes, our message is clear: we need real investments in our schools, not governance changes that miss the mark.
📆 April 29 is a province-wide Day of Action
✊🏾 Join us to defend publicly funded education
Wear red. Show your solidarity. Be part of the action.

The time to act is now. If education continues to be defunded, it will embolden the provincial government to tear apart our other public services. Public services such as health care (already happening), the court system (already happening), community care homes (already happening), and more. Your tax dollars are not going where you think they should be going. Join education workers and help in their fight before they come for you, and there is no one left to fight.

Reminder: Rally together this Saturday, March 28th

Do you feel like the Ontario government is not listening to you? Are you concerned about the chronic underfunding of public education and public healthcare? Are you wondering why is focusing so much on taking over an airport or building a 2 million square foot convention center? Are you concerned about new restrictions being placed on Freedom of Information requests?

If these are topics that concern you, join with fellow Ontarians in this Saturday's Rally to Be Heard!

Public healthcare in Canada exists because people organized and demanded something better. It reflects a simple but powerful idea: that access to care should be based on need -- not ability to pay.
As pressures on public services grow, it’s worth remembering that these systems were built through collective action -- and they depend on it to remain strong.
