We were honoured to welcome Fiona Trevelyan, Chief Executive of Odyssey Trust in Aotearoa, New Zealand, for a meaningful and engaging visit to Stonehenge last week.
Odyssey is a longstanding addiction support organization in New Zealand, offering residential and community services grounded in the Therapeutic Community model, with a strong focus on peer support, whānau (a Māori term for 'family'), and long-term recovery.
It was a valuable opportunity to connect, share perspectives, and learn from one another as organizations grounded in the Therapeutic Community model, committed to supporting individuals on their journeys.
💬 Fiona spent time with our team exploring our Peer Model through in-depth discussions with our Supervisor of Peer Support, Jason, highlighting the vital role of peer support in how we deliver care and foster connection.
💡 We had rich conversations around harm reduction, justice, and housing services - exchanging insights on our approaches, as well as the challenges and successes we encounter in our work.
🏥 During her visit to our RAAM clinic, we discussed the application of addiction medicine across all substance use, and how peer support is thoughtfully integrated into every model of care.
🏡 Fiona also toured our Residential Therapeutic Communities, creating space to share ideas, best practices, and resources drawn from our respective Therapeutic Community models.
We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and strengthen connections across organizations and countries. Together, we continue to learn, evolve, and improve the supports we offer to those who need them most. 💙
