Springwater Sports Heritage recognizes Rob Conn as a 2026 Hall of Fame Inductee

We are so proud ☺️ - to announce another Springwater Sports Hall of Fame - 2026 Athlete Inductee : Robert Conn 👏

Born and raised in Springwater, 🙏 Robert “Rob” Conn was an exceptional multi-sport athlete who forged a hockey legacy defined by elite versatility, immense heart, and exemplary leadership. Following his late father George, a 2024 Hall of Fame inductee, into Springwater sports history, Rob was a standout product of the Elmvale Minor Hockey Association. He anchored an Atom team and two Bantam squads to OMHA Championships, notably leading his 1988–89 Bantam team in scoring and earning Best Defensive Player honours at the Silver Stick tournament.
His exceptional versatility allowed him to seamlessly excel at both centre and defence. Rob made a smooth transition to junior hockey with the OHA Junior B Barrie Colts, serving as Assistant Captain and earning praise as one of Simcoe County’s brightest, most unselfish prospects.

Rob later brought his leadership skills to the Ontario Provincial Police, serving with distinction as a Detective Sergeant.

Congratulations George Allen and thank you for everything you have done for our local sports community!

His vision, leadership and volunteer service have left a lasting legacy throughout Springwater.

For more than five decades, George Allen has been one of Springwater’s most dedicated community sport builders.
As a leader in Elmvale Minor Hockey, he served in executive roles including secretary, treasurer and president while helping expand opportunities for young athletes.
Beyond hockey, George organized softball tournaments, coached championship 🏆 teams, developed youth fitness and cross-country programs, and supported track and field success.

Following the 1974 Elmvale Arena fire, he played a key role in restoring facilities and ensuring local sports continued to thrive. George also helped lead the redevelopment of the arena, creation of Heritage Park, preservation of local sports history via his "Chapters" 📕 books, and numerous community recreation initiatives.

Congratulations to Dave Drinkill!

A life long hockey journey 🏒
CONGRATULATIONS 👏 Dave Drinkill
2026 Springwater Sports Hall of Fame Inductee - Builder

An Elmvale native, Dave Drinkill’s lifelong hockey journey advanced from local arenas to the pinnacle of Canadian major junior hockey ex*****on. As a talented goaltender, Dave anchored the Elmvale Guardian Drugs Midgets to back-to-back OMHA

Championships in 🏆 1999 and 2000. Turning his passion toward executive leadership, he built a distinguished OHL career, serving as Assistant General Manager for the Barrie Colts before becoming General Manager of the Saginaw Spirit in 2015. Under his visionary guidance, Saginaw achieved historic milestones, culminating in the ultimate triumph: winning the 2024 Memorial Cup. Dave further excelled on the international stage, leading Team Canada Red to a U17 World Challenge Gold Medal in 2026.
Deeply loyal to his roots, Dave proudly returned home to share the historic Memorial Cup with an appreciative Springwater community.
