Woolwich Lions welcomed guest speaker Carrie Guse from Food4Kids Waterloo Region to our club meeting March 23. We learned about this local charity that provides healthy food to children ages 1 to 14 from food insecure homes. Food is delivered to children at school where they take home healthy food for the evenings and weekends, providing nourishment they need to thrive mentally, physically and socially.

Right here in Waterloo Region, nearly 10% of households struggle with food insecurity. This includes children right here in Elmira and Woolwich who are benefiting from the food delivered by Food4Kids, which acts as a supplement to in-school nutrition programs,.

The Lions presented $1,000 donation to Food4Kids at our meeting to support their ongoing work. If you want to learn more or donate, visit https://food4kidswr.ca/
