Project Downtown is an initiative during which we pack and distribute food, clothing, and hygiene items to the less-fortunate in Edmonton. Since 2013 we have distributed several thousand bagged lunches, Alhamdulillah!

Each lunch costs about $2.75 and typically includes: a sandwich, granola bar, chips, fresh fruit, and a water bottle.

The next session of Project Downtown will be on Sunday, November 9, 2025 starting at 10:00am in the MCE Mosque Basement (10721 86 Ave NW). Please enter via the rear entrance! Join us for this hands-on opportunity to help the less-fortunate in Edmonton, while also participating in some great dawah!

Alhamdulillah! Due to popular demand our Men’s Friday Gym Nights have returned and will be hosted most Fridays from September 19, 2025 until June 5, 2026 inclusively, inshAllah! Most attendees are in University and beyond, but there are some brothers in high school. Due to increased attendance, we have decided to host the Friday Gym Nights at 2 separate venues. This year, basketball will be hosted at Father Michael Troy High School (3630 23 Street NW), but we are still trying to secure a venue for soccer.

To any incoming university students, we’re excited to be sharing the return of M’Orientation, the UofA Muslim Students’ Association’s annual University orientation program dedicated to new Muslim students attending the University of Alberta.

It intends to help new Muslim students feel more comfortable with the transition into university life by allowing them to connect with the Muslim community on campus, make new friends, learn to navigate through the university campus, and find out more about other helpful services such as the multi-faith prayer spaces, halal food options, and the weekly Friday prayer.
