Today, we honour the children, survivors, families, and communities impacted by Canada’s residential school system.

May we continue to listen, learn, remember, and work toward reconciliation. 🧡

Through the Keep Kids At-Risk in School (KKARIS) project, COIN is supporting 10 at-risk Sudanese refugee children in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement with educational aid, school supplies, notebooks, and uniforms. 📘

For children living as refugees, staying in school can be difficult when families are already facing so much uncertainty.

Visit coincanada.org to learn more about our active projects or to donate to support children stay in school.

What can a few hours of community action do? 🌱

A lot, when we do it together.

Our Root for Trees Stewardship Event brought community members together to plant, care for the environment, learn about local biodiversity, and help create a greener Edmonton.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, got their hands dirty, and helped make a difference.

In Islam, caring for the land and benefiting the community is an ongoing act of charity. 🌱

Through planting trees and flowers, we’re building community while giving back to the environment, creating benefits that will continue long after the event.

🌱 Our Root for Trees planting event was a wonderful success last week! Together, community members planted trees, cleaned up the surrounding area and helped create a greener future for generations to come. 🌳

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers for giving their time, energy and care. Every tree planted last week represents hope for our children’s tomorrow. 💚

We are also grateful to The Edmonton Council of Muslim Communities, the City of Edmonton and Root for Trees for helping make this meaningful community initiative possible.
