The exhibition, “Sweet & Sour Memories” by Edith Chu, is on display downstairs in the Kaasa Lobby at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium until December 1, 2026.

In this exhibition, Edith captured images from various Chinese restaurants around the city, including her family’s restaurant, documenting a common journey of Asian immigrants who came to North America and had to start over.

We’re bringing the funk to the last Grand Night Market of the season! 🎶

Join us on Friday, September 25th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the 70 Gr8 Entertainment District (78 Ave Between 99 and 100 street) for a special performance by Funk the Matriarchy - A Female Funk Revue sponsored by Jubilee Arts.

Funk the Matriarchy is a dynamic, female-fronted band amplifying the voices of women & gender-diverse artists in funk, soul, and R&B. With a powerful blend of infectious grooves and purpose-driven performance, they energize audiences while confronting gender inequality in the music industry and beyond. Their setlists spotlight iconic female anthems alongside hidden gems from underrepresented artists, honouring the trailblazers who shaped these genres and elevating voices too often left out of the narrative.

See you there!

On September 10, from 4–8 PM, we’ll be bringing two fun activities to the 124 Grand Market to close out this year’s programming with Little Beans, a free interactive program for children ages 4 to 12 that runs weekly.

Local magician Jay Flair will perform magic tricks with fruits and vegetables on stage from 4–4:45 PM and 5–5:45 PM. During that time, and for the rest of the market, we’ll be offering paint spinner art at our booth using a salad spinner. This hands-on activity will show families how to create art using accessible supplies they may already have in their kitchen!

We are thrilled to be partnering with the Grand Night Market on Friday, August 28th with a performance from The Barkells! Join us at Seventy Gr8 Entertainment District (78 Ave between 99 & 100 street) from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

The Barkells are Edmonton’s must see party band. Covering all genres with more than 300 face melting, b***y shaking hits, there’s simply no way you can resist a good sing along. This charismatic six piece band rocks any stage they can find, including corporate events, weddings, and festivals.

The Barkells got their start as the house band at The Denizen Freehouse in Edmonton’s Ice District, selling out shows up to 3 times a week, for 4 years strong. The Barkells have also played opening slots in Ford Hall at Rogers Place, for huge acts like Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queen, and the Lumineers.

This incredibly diverse, and infectiously fun band has a little something for everyone and is sure to set the party on fire every time.

Join us for a free event in downtown Edmonton on August 12! Students will learn the basic steps of the Grass and Jingle dances. They will also receive teachings about the Cree and Blackfoot tribes. Curt will use a hand drum and flute to demonstrate different drum patterns that are used in these traditions. His regalia will be on display to explain what each part represents, how he received it, and how he became a dancer.
