Today we pause to honour Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The orange shirt is a powerful reminder of Phyllis Webstad’s story, whose new orange shirt was taken from her on her first day at residential school. For her, the colour orange has always symbolized loss and the silencing of children’s voices.

We remember the children who never came home, the survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. We commit to listening, learning, and walking together in the ongoing journey of truth and reconciliation.
