OUR MISSION: To provide pet supplies to rescues, community outreach programs, community caretakers and more. OUR GOAL: To enable the rescues and organizations to dedicate more of their time and resources towards things like medical costs, transit, specialty supplies, etc. By collecting donations from partnered stores, vet clinics and kind individuals and distributing it. All donations received from our community sponsors and their customers are sorted and distributed to the rescues and organizations according to what they need when they need it. Any donations a rescue gets from other sources that they do not need or cannot use can be given to us to distribute to another rescue who can use it. This saves the rescues valuable time, gas and volunteer hours from driving from location to location to collect donations when they can come to us and get what they need in one stop. The money the rescues would have used to purchase the food and supplies can then be redirected towards vet bills and the time and volunteer hours saved can be used to hold more adoption events and fundraisers. In our first year of operation (2015*), we distributed 18,095.77 lbs of dry food to 24 Edmonton and area rescues. In 2016, those numbers grew to 28,595.07 lbs and 35 rescues! OUR CORE VALUES define who we are and are the foundation of the organization. They are the guidelines we adhere to when conducting business and a reflection of the people behind the organization. ACT WITH INTEGRITY: We are honest and committed to doing what’s best for our rescue partners, retail partners, and our volunteers. We openly collaborate in pursuit of the advancement of the organization. We have no tolerance for politics, hidden agendas, passive-aggressive behavior, gossip, abuse of any kind, and illegal activity. OPERATE WITH TRANSPARENCY: with us, what you see is what you get. We have nothing to hide. BRING THE PASSION: we are a dedicated group of people who are passionate about animal welfare and our mission to provide our rescue partners with pet food and supplies for their animals in care which enables our rescue partners to redirect funding to veterinary care. And together, we ENJOY THE JOURNEY by ensuring our volunteers know they are appreciated through our Volunteer Incentive Program, annual Christmas party, and lunches provided during our events.
*Although the organization's history extends back to October, 2014, we operated under A Pet's Pantry Society from January 2015 to October 2022. We began operating under it's current name and format in October 2022.
