Ask Kittyhawk Anything!

Got a burning question about cats, pets, or Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)?

Whether it’s quirky behaviors, advice, or how our team works magic with feral colonies, now’s the time to ask!

📌 Examples you could ask:
- Why do cats cover their food?
- What's the best way to keep outdoor cats safe?
- How does TNR really help reduce shelter overcrowding?
- Is it normal for my dog to dream-run in his sleep?

🐕🐈 Post your questions in the comments and we’ll reply with answers, fun facts, and maybe even a GIF or two. 😸

Let’s learn, laugh, and grow together, for pets and their people.

Wildfire Emergency Plans for Pets

With the wildfire season ongoing, it’s crucial to have a solid plan not just for yourself but for your furry family too. Here’s what every pet owner should know before an emergency strikes:

👜 Prep a Pet Go-Bag
Include essentials like food, water, meds, leash/harness, carrier, comfort item, and copies of vet records.

📍 Know Where You’ll Go
Map out pet-friendly shelters or hotels in advance. Coordinate with friends or family who can take you and your pet in.

🆔 Tag and Microchip
Make sure your pet’s ID tags are updated and consider microchipping if you haven’t already.

🚗 Practice Evacuation
Train pets to get into their carrier or car calmly. The more familiar they are, the faster you can move during an emergency.

📞 Stay Informed
Follow local alerts and fire updates, and keep your emergency contacts close.

Your pets rely on you. Be their hero when it matters most. 💙

MYTH-BUSTING MONDAY: Truth About TNR & Pets!

Let’s clear the air and bust some myths like a cat chasing shadows. 😼

🔥 Myth #1: “Removing feral cats fixes the problem.”
✅ Truth: Nope! It just invites new cats to move in, a phenomenon called the vacuum effect. TNR stabilizes colonies and ends the cycle humanely.

🔥 Myth #2: “Outdoor cats are just strays looking for homes.”
✅ Truth: Many community cats are feral, meaning they were born outside and prefer it! They're happiest staying in their outdoor territory, with your help from afar.

🔥 Myth #3: “Only indoor pets deserve care.”
✅ Truth: Compassion has no borders. Every creature, from pampered poodle to alley cat, deserves safety and health.

🔥 Myth #4: “You can’t train cats.”
✅ Truth: Ever seen a cat sit, high-five, or walk on a leash? It's possible! Just don’t expect them to fetch your slippers.

Let’s keep kindness fact-based.

Share YOUR favorite animal myth below, we’ll keep the truth coming! 🧠💬
