Kenilworth Community League

Kenilworth Community League We are here to meet the needs of the residents of the community of Kenilworth in Edmonton, AB. Over the years, the community hall continued to improve.

The southeast community of Kenilworth joined the City of Edmonton in 1961 and formed its Community League in 1964. At first only a skating rink was built to accommodate hockey practices. In 1966, a community hall was built in a unique hexagonal shape, later coined “The Web”. In 1998, the Kenilworth Hall suffered irreparable damage caused by vandalism. Community spirit prevailed and plans for a new

hall began. Preparations for the Annual Family Picnic continued and the Summer Playground program ran in the Green Shack. Fall programs and hall rentals relocated and meetings were held in schools, churches and other community leagues. The generosity of people, businesses, churches and communities was heartening and combined to finance a new hall that began construction in 1999. Reminder: the big bin will be in the Kenilworth Community Hall parking lot from 9 am - 2 pm today.

The Swap Table is also already filling up. Bring your reusable items too, like small furnishings, children’s items, and household goods. The adorable ceramic turtle potter, handmade in the 1980’s, already found a new home! 🐢💚

🎟️ Admission: A current KCL membership is required to drop off items. Don’t have one? No worries—memberships will be available for purchase right on-site!

🛑 What CANNOT go in the Big Bins:

Household hazardous waste (anything that needs to go to the Eco Centre)

Large appliances

Mattresses & box springs

🗑️BIG BIN EVENT IS BACK! 🗓️

Got clutter? The Kenilworth Community League Big Bin Event is returning on Saturday, June 6, 2026! It’s time to clear out your garage, basement, and backyard.

We will also have a Swap Table on-site for reusable items! Keeping small furnishings, children’s items, and household goods in circulation helps reduce waste and gives durable goods a second life. 🔄🧸🪑

⏰ When: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (or until the bins are full—come early!)

📍 Where: Kenilworth Community Hall Parking Lot

🎟️ Admission: A current KCL membership is required to drop off items. Don’t have one? No worries—memberships will be available for purchase right on-site!

One of the great perks of your Kenilworth Community League membership is free community swimming at local pools. Just show your valid membership card during the times listed below.

Here is the upcoming schedule for spring and summer:

☀️ May and June:

Bonnie Doon Pool: Saturdays, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre: Sundays, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Hardisty Fitness and Leisure Centre: Sundays, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Heads up, Kenilworth! 🚧🧹

Street sweeping is coming to our neighbourhood the week of April 26.

To help crews do a thorough job (and avoid a $250 ticket), please remember:
• No street parking Monday–Friday, 7am–7pm during your scheduled week
• Crews can arrive at any time during the week
• Parking is okay again in the evenings and once your street is complete

Watch for white signs at neighbourhood entrances and check the street cleaning map for real-time updates.

Let’s keep Kenilworth clean and make sure everyone avoids unnecessary tickets 🙌
