Nor'Westers Athletic Association Leading provider of youth, women's, and men's rugby programs in the Edmonton Region.

Established in 1974, the Nor'Westers Athletic Association offers rugby programs to the citizens of Edmonton. Rugby has a long and storied tradition of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and competitive spirit in Alberta. The Rugby clubhouse has served host to countless community activities, club tournaments, and private functions for decades. We are proud to continue in the tradition established by our f

ounding members, and look forward to further improve our club, having fun playing the sport we love. The Nor'Westers take their name from the culturally diverse group of entrepreneurs who formed the NorthWest Trading Company. In the 1700s, men such as Alexander McKenzie and their guides, trapped and traded for furs while exploring and charting the Canadian NorthWest establishing forts and the first settlements in Alberta over two hundred years ago. Many of these individuals formed the fur brigades that annually transported furs and goods by canoe across the country. Our crest and logo honor the fur-hatted trader/explorers and their native guides on a canoe voyage through forests and mountains on the Northwest river.

A huge congratulations to our Nor’Westers AC Men on a fantastic victory over the Hornets! The boys put on an outstanding performance, showing grit, determination, and teamwork from the first whistle to the last. We couldn’t be more excited and proud of this group as they continue to build momentum this season!

🏉 SENIOR WOMEN’S SEASON OPENER WIN 🏉

What a way to start the season! Our Nor’Westers Senior Women battled hard and came away with a thrilling 31-27 victory over the Irish. The determination, grit, and teamwork on display were incredible, and we couldn’t be prouder of this group of athletes.

Another big win for the Nor’Westers Prems Men 🔥🏉

Our Division 1 Prems Men faced off against the Calgary Canucks on Saturday, May 23rd, in an exciting high-scoring match. With powerful runs, massive tackles, and nonstop effort from the boys, the Nor’Westers came out on top with a 48-38 win!
