Bosco Foundation - Northeast Edmonton The Bosco Foundation is home to 25+ non-profits in a diverse corner of NE Edmonton.

We steward a large historical property on 3.5 acres of land and are zoned for an affordable seniors housing project.

Why did Bosco Homes suddenly close in 2009? After two years of being held in detention, charges were stayed against the two youth who were wrongfully accused. The Foundation remains, committed to the organizations who call our historic building home.

We were sad to see the Transit Smokehouse & BBQ move out of the neighbourhood. When the Franciscans came out West, they had nothing to eat and were fed by the Transit Hotel. They erected our main building in 1925, known as a friary. We wish the Smokehouse well in their new Whyte Ave location.

St. Francis of Assisi Friary / St. Anthony's College is a three-storey plus basement, brick-clad concrete structure, built in several stages with a stepped corner tower and later gymnasium. It is located on a large corner lot in the Baldwin neighbourhood of Edmonton, near the historic Packing Plant....

For the first time in several years, we are cleaning up the flower beds along the front of the building. Heritage flower seeds have been planted. “We” as in Clint Porritt, our exceptional maintenance person since October who also happens to be a permaculturist. Let’s see what comes up! You can help us to beautify the neighbourhood. Let us know if you are interested in helping to tend a bed. 🙂
