IUOE 955 Business Manager, Chris Flett and Assistant Business Manager, Anthony Noseworthy were on hand alongside Federal Secretary of State (Labour), John Zerucelli for today's government of Canada's announcement in Ottawa of more than $430 million in new funding over the next five years for the Union Training and Innovation Program (UTIP).

This crucial funding - something IUOE 955 has been asking for - will help union training facilities like our Budd Coutts Apprenticeship and Education Centre expand its training, open new red seal programs and build the next generation of skilled tradespersons.

Union women make the working world go round 👊

IUOE 955 was well represented at this year's Tradeswomen Build Nations in Houston, TX, where thousands of unionized tradeswomen and allies from across North America gathered to celebrate and bring awareness to the crucial role union women play in building and maintaining our communities.

Big ups to all who participated in such an awesome and important conference.

TWBN is the largest gathering of unionized tradeswomen on earth.

IUOE 955 President, Declan Regan was honoured to meet up with and deliver 955er, Ted Asachi, with his 70-year long service award during a visit to IUOE 955 headquarters in Edmonton on Oct. 9.

Making animal lives better 🐾

On Monday, IUOE 955 Northern District Supervisor, Luke Shea presented a cheque to the Fort McMurray SPCA for a whopping $6,197 alongside 955er and animal champ, Sandy MacDonald.

The funds were raised from IUOE 955's annual Show and Shine on September 12. A big thanks to all who contributed to this significant donation for such a good cause!
