Before the Bike Month challenge gets underway, gear up at the Edmonton Bike Swap on Saturday, May 9! This non-profit community event is an opportunity for you to safely buy, sell, or donate bikes! Each and every pedaler is checked for rideability and verified against stolen-bike databases to ensure a safe and trusted experience for everyone.

Proceeds help fund CAN-BIKE safe cycling initiatives across Western Canada.

Event Schedule:

08:00-14:00: Consign your bike (drop off to sell)
08:00-17:00: Donate a bike
14:00-14:30: Peace of Mind Preview*
14:30-17:00: Buy a bike (or three!)

*Peace of Mind Preview: Stolen bikes are a bummer, so proprietary tech is used to keep them out. Anyone with an active police report is invited to do a quick "it’s definitely not here" lap before doors officially open. It’s the only time the entire day’s inventory is on the floor at once!

Join us to rehome great bikes, find your next ride, and support cycling in our community.

Some Leagues are hosting Bike Tune Up events at their facilities, so be sure to check out your local league for more information. Let’s hit the road- see you out there!

We're excited that so many people are using the Grange dog park! Through our partnership with the Glastonbury Community League we were able to create a dog park that is over double the size that either could do on their own. Please remember to pick up after your dog and always be under control of your canine friend.

Gear up for the 2026 Community League Bike Month Challenge!

Dust off your bikes and get ready- the 2026 Bike Month Challenge is almost here!

From June 1 to 30, this city-wide event is a fun way for Leagues to promote active transportation and recreation through friendly competition. To get the wheels turning, come and join us at the Community League Plaza at Hawrelak Park on Saturday, May 30, for the re-opening celebration to kick things off!

Last year, 30 Leagues rode nearly 144,000 km- roughly four times distance around the globe! In 2026, we’re looking to blow that record off the roads and trails by bringing in more team members and exploring all parts of the city. Who’s ready to go further?

How to Compete:
Leagues will contend for prizes, courtesy of United Sport & Cycle, and a prize basket, across three distinct categories:

Total Participants: Get as many neighbours riding as possible!

Total Team Kilometers: Track those long-distance treks.

Scavenger Hunt: Visit specific locations on the list!

Ready to Register?

To get your League in the fast lane, follow these steps:

1. Review the Toolkit for full challenge details.
2.Appoint a Data Collector: Your League will need a designated person to report weekly totals to the EFCL.
3. Sign Up: Email [email protected] to register your League and your Data Collector.

We can't wait to see which Leagues will lead the pack this June. Grab your helmets, rally your neighbors, and let’s show the city how far we can go together!

Grab your gloves and help make our community more beautiful! You’ll be placed in a group and assigned an area, with all supplies provided.

After the clean-up, stick around for a free BBQ as a thank-you for participation!

We’ll meet at River West to pick up supplies and maps, and return there afterward to drop off collected garbage and enjoy the BBQ.
