We were thrilled to visit Active Homes and spend time with owner Harpreet, whose passion for creating beautiful, personalized spaces is reflected in every detail of the business. Harpreet’s eye for design started with Pinterest boards and collecting inspiration and has since grown into a hands-on role helping stage homes and bring each space to life.

While infill progress is on the rise, consistency is key to maintaining sustainable growth in the region. Since 2014, Edmonton has made great strides in increasing housing in mature neighbourhoods, surpassing its infill target of 25% in previous years.
 
By supporting more predictable processes, better data collection, and enhanced coordination, the region can remain on the right track to meeting its future goals.

Gabriella Boyko is a communications and marketing professional with expertise in digital strategy, content creation, social media management and stakeholder engagement.

She brings experience across the public, private and non-profit sectors, helping organizations turn community issues and events into engaging public-facing work
Most recently, Gabriella served as Senior Political Aide, Media Relations and Social Media Manager for the Tim Cartmell for Mayor Campaign and the Better Edmonton political party. In a fast-moving campaign environment, she worked across press conferences and speaking notes to social content, newsletters, briefings, media responses and event coordination. Through that work, she helped translate civic issues into audience-focused communications.

Prior to joining BILD Edmonton Metro, Gabriella worked in collaboration with marketing agencies as a freelance consultant including Berlin Communications, Kaden Ave Communications and Adverb Communications, supporting high-profile clients and events such as K-Days, Explore Edmonton and Alberta Forest Products Association.

She has worked across a range of complex projects, bringing expertise in project delivery, cost analysis, stakeholder coordination, and navigating complex regulatory environments. Her experience combines technical depth with a practical understanding of how policy influences infrastructure outcomes.
Outside of work, Aster is pursuing her MBA with a focus on sustainable innovation, and is passionate about advancing practical solutions that support resilient communities and long-term growth.
