WOW! Our season activities start ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! Our 2026/27 season is rich with the theme of storytelling; particularly storytelling rooted in lived experience. We are thrilled to welcome award-winning author, Isis Maria Henriquez (Isis Maria Henriquez) to host a virtual “Intro To Storytelling” workshop next Saturday, October 10 from 1:30-3:30pm. The workshop is virtual & FREE to attend, but registrants must RSVP in advance & we request you share any access needs you may have when you register. Do so at the 🔗 invitation our bio!

Isis Maria will share her experience with relatability and how to capture and hold readers’ attention. She will highlight the following topics to build your writing: connection, relatability, and attention. You will learn how to recognize, understand, and explore stories and the importance of personal stories in being an author/storyteller, while identifying the point of your writing and other story-building features.

At age 7, Isis Maria Henriquez (she/her) rode with her family from Edmonton, Alberta, to San Salvador, El Salvador. The journey marked the beginning of her life as an educator, traveller, and storyteller. Her first novel, Mangos and Snowflakes, tells the silenced stories of victims of the Salvadoran civil war and explores multigenerational connections. She has experience with disability.

Please note: This is a virtual event. A Zoom link will be provided to all attendees on the morning of the event, via the email address(es) provided upon registration. If any contact information changes, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].

CRIPSiE membership is required for this event. You can become a CRIPSiE member for no cost at www.cripsie.com!
