The Veterans Food Bank Of Edmonton

🍁 There’s thanks in giving.

This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the kindness that brings our communities together—and mindful of those whose service and sacrifice we will never forget, especially those who gave their all.

If giving is part of your Thanksgiving tradition, food or monetary donations to any Canadian Veterans Services Society branch are a thoughtful way to support Veterans, first responders and their families.

A little shared kindness can mean groceries on a table and the comfort of knowing someone cares.

Please contact your local branch for donation details. To our donors, volunteers and supporters: thank you for helping us care for those who have served. ❤️

Because Service never Ends.

Our Edmonton Veterans Food Bank shelves need a little help! ❤️

If you’re able to donate any of the items listed, every contribution—large or small—helps us provide veterans and their families with essential groceries, household products and pet supplies.

Thank you for continuing to stand behind those who have served. Together, we can make a difference.

Because Service Never Ends.

WHY DO WE WEAR RED ON FRIDAYS?

R.E.D. stands for Remember Everyone Deployed.

Each Friday, Canadians wear red to honor the members of our Canadian Armed Forces who are serving away from home. It is a simple gesture carrying a powerful message: they are seen, they are remembered and their service and sacrifices are deeply appreciated.

We also recognize the families waiting at home—the spouses, children, parents and loved ones who carry their own worries and make sacrifices alongside those deployed.

Wearing red reminds our serving members that distance does not mean they have been forgotten. It brings communities together in gratitude, respect and solidarity.

Today, and every Friday, we wear red and proudly say:

We see you. We remember you. We stand beside you.

Because Service Never Ends.

❤️ LOOK WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A COMMUNITY CARES.

One person donates a bag of groceries.
Another gives a few dollars.
A gardener shares fresh vegetables.
A business sponsors a project.
A volunteer gives an afternoon.

Individually, these gestures may seem small. Together, they provide healthy food, safe spaces, compassionate support, dignity and hope.

To every person who has donated, volunteered, shared one of our posts or simply told someone about CAVSS—thank you.

You are part of every life touched by this mission.

Because Service Never Ends.

🦸‍♀️ NO CAPE REQUIRED—BUT COMFORTABLE SHOES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The real superheroes at CAVSS don’t fly. They stock shelves, organize donations, clean, make phone calls, attend outreaches, welcome guests and listen when someone needs a caring ear.

Every volunteer brings different abilities, but they all share one thing: a desire to help those who have served.

If you have a little time, a helpful spirit and room in your heart for one more mission, we would love to hear from you.

Small acts of service can create enormous hope.

Because Service Never Ends.

🥒 HAS YOUR GARDEN BEEN A LITTLE TOO GENEROUS?

Are tomatoes covering every counter? Are potatoes taking over the pantry? Are the zucchini multiplying when nobody is looking?

Our Food Banks would be delighted to share your harvest abundance with the veterans, first responders and families we serve.

We welcome fresh potatoes, tomatoes, corn, carrots, onions, cucumbers, zucchini, leafy greens, apples, pears and other seasonal produce.

Even one bag or basket can make a meaningful difference.

From your garden to their table—let’s grow hope together.

Because Service Never Ends.

🦸 CALLING ALL GROCERY HEROES!

Our Food Bank shelves have an important mission: providing veterans, first responders and their families with healthy food and essential supplies.

Could you help complete the mission by donating a few groceries?

Every can, bag, box and bottle helps our guests shop privately and select what their families need with dignity.

No cape is required—just a caring heart and perhaps an extra bag of groceries!

Fill a shelf. Feed hope.

Because Service Never Ends.

🌟 MEET OUR TEAM: KAYSHA & NATASHA 🌟

Meet Kaysha and Natasha—the two hardworking women helping keep our Edmonton Veterans Food Bank running!

Caring and compassionate, they work tirelessly to ensure our shelves are stocked and that every guest who walks through our doors feels welcomed, heard and supported.

Between organizing outreaches, attending meetings, managing the many behind-the-scenes details and welcoming new guests, Kaysha and Natasha always find a way to get things done—with kindness, patience and heart.

Beyond their work with the Canadian Veterans Services Society, they both have busy lives and families of their own. We are also grateful to the wonderful families who support them and make it possible for these remarkable women to give so much to others.

Thank you, Kaysha and Natasha, for your dedication and for everything you do—both seen and unseen. Edmonton and our entire CVSS family are fortunate to have you! ❤️

Because Service Never Ends.
