What was supposed to happen in a park ended up happening in an upper room.
Last week, more than 130 people gathered for The 120 Prayer & Worship Night.
With rain in the forecast, we moved the night into the Resurgence office. We filled the main room. Then the offices. The kitchen. The stairs. People were spilling outside from our second-storey space.
And somewhere in the middle of it, we were reminded of the story God has been writing.
When we first felt God lead us to call our monthly Edmonton gathering “The 120,” it came from Acts — 120 followers of Jesus gathered together in an upper room, waiting and praying.
At the time, we didn’t even have an office.
Then God provided an office for Resurgence.
On the second floor.
An upper room.
And then this happened.
In our 18th year of Resurgence, words are difficult to find for what God is doing. What began in Edmonton has gone across Canada and into the nations. We are grateful for every place He has allowed us to serve.
But there is something deeply significant about seeing a fresh stirring in a new generation right here in Edmonton — our roots.
No hype. No striving. Just hungry people making room for Jesus.
We believe God is stirring something again.
“They all joined together constantly in prayer…” — Acts 1:14
🔥 Come, Holy Spirit.
