On April 25, AiLA was proud to take part in the Volunteer Fair at West Edmonton Mall!
It was a great opportunity to connect with the community, share information about our programs, and speak with people interested in supporting independent living for autistic adults.
We were also honoured to have Andrew Knack stop by our booth to wish us well and show support for our work in the community. Thank you to everyone who visited us throughout the day!

The Autism Independent Living Association was highlighted for our cooking program, which helps autistic adults build independence through kitchen skills, healthy eating, and budgeting.
A big thank you to CBC for shining a light on the importance of practical life skills and community support.
Special thanks to AiLA President Leanne Carr for speaking about the impact these workshops are having on the lives of participants and families.

AiLA is a fully volunteer-run organization working toward building intentional, supportive housing for autistic adults in Edmonton. As we move from planning into the possibility of building, we’re reminded that this vision is only possible through the dedication of our volunteers and community support.

Aila is so proud of our vice president Kyle Lobb who was on the news today speaking about the Cycle for Autism event for Autism Edmonton. We are also proud to be part of this event, and we'll have a table there as well and be selling our amazing CAREMELS. So look for us at Borden Park on June 7th.

We were thrilled to see Morine Rossi, Director of Programs at Autism Edmonton, and Kyle Lobb, Master of Ceremonies for the upcoming CYCLE for Autism Edmonton, were featured today on Global Edmonton’s lunchtime News Hour!

They did a fantastic job promoting the upcoming CYCLE for Autism Edmonton event taking place on Sunday, June 7th, and helping spread awareness about the importance of community connection, inclusion, and support for autistic individuals and families.

We hope everyone has a chance to catch the segment if you missed it during lunch today. Thank you, Morine and Kyle, for representing Autism Edmonton so well! 🚴💙

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!

Financial Literacy for Teens
Thursday, May 21st, 2026
7 pm to 8:30 pm

Money management is a life skill, and the earlier teens understand it, the stronger their foundation for adulthood will be.

This session teaches teens the essentials of financial management in a practical and relatable way. We break down the basics so young people can make informed, confident decisions about their financial future.

In this session, teens will learn:
• How bank accounts work and how to manage them responsibly
• What a credit score is and why it matters
• The basics of student loans and borrowing wisely
• Everyday habits that build strong financial health

Financial confidence does not happen by accident. It is built through knowledge, awareness, and smart habits.

Join us to help teens take control of their financial future with clarity and confidence.
