Halloween at Magrath is back! A free, outdoor Halloween walkthrough on the beautifully illuminated grounds of the historic Magrath Campus on Ada Boulevard.

Dress up, bring the kids, and get into the spirit of the season just steps from our neighbourhood! 🦇🌕

🧡 Today we pause. We listen. We remember.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — a day to honour the survivors of Canada's Indian residential school system, the children who never came home, and the families and communities who carry that loss forward.

Orange Shirt Day began with one story. Phyllis Webstad was a young girl who arrived at residential school wearing a bright new orange shirt — a gift from her grandmother, full of excitement for her first day. That shirt was taken away. Her story, and the stories of the approximately 150,000 Indigenous children who passed through the residential school system, deserve to be heard, remembered, and never forgotten.

Wearing orange today is a simple but meaningful act of solidarity. It says: we see you. We believe you. Every child matters. 🧡

Here in Bellevue and Virginia Park, we stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities and commit to being a neighbourhood that takes reconciliation seriously — not just today, but every day.

🏛️ Flags at City Hall lowered to half-mast
🟠 Every Child Matters banners raised in Churchill Square
🌉 High Level Bridge, Walterdale Bridge, City Hall, Muttart Conservatory and more lit orange tonight

🧡 Every child matters. Every. Single. One.

Join us in honouring residential school survivors and the children who never came home at this year's Orange Shirt Day event hosted by Indigenous Runner at Kinsmen Park.

This is a meaningful and welcoming event for the whole community — whether you walk, run, or just come to show up and stand together. 🙏

Three ways to participate:

👧 2.15km Kids & Elder Run & Walk

And as a special gift to attendees, Root for Trees is offering free native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers to take home — a beautiful way to connect with the land and carry something living from the day forward. 🌱 Planting instructions provided, with options to plant in your own backyard or at a designated city site.

Community League Day was everything we hoped for! The afternoon was full of familiar faces, new friends, and the kind of energy that reminds us why this neighbourhood is so special. That's exactly why we do this. 🍺

Men's Night at Bellevue is a laid-back, no-agenda evening to show up, grab a drink, and spend some time with good people. No pressure, no program — just good conversation and a chance to get to know your neighbours a little better.
