What goes into organizing our Fastelavn parties? (psst, it's on March 7!)
Well, first of all, a fabulous dinner featuring traditional Danish and European dishes. Our Fastelavn dance is one of the only times each year that we serve a hot meal, and it’s something we look forward to in the colder months. This year, we’re doing something a little different with a plated dinner instead of a buffet.
This year, wooden barrels were hand-crafted by Svend Green from Camrose, decorated and filled with goodies by the Dania board, and then smashed up by you! Whether you dress up or not, it’s fun to let loose and have fun with these Danish traditions.
Fastelavnsboller is a type of bun filled with cream and drizzled in chocolate, they are quite special for this time of year. If you want to have one, you can try “bobbin for boller”!!
This year, we welcome Teen Dania members to participate because we want to pass on traditions to the next generation. Get your tickets, it’s always a fun time!
