The ASaP Program

The ASaP Program The ASAP Program was started by The GRIT Program and partners with licensed ELCC programs

The ASAP Program page seeks to connect early learning and care staff as they support children's social and emotional development. It is a platform to share ideas, resources, and information related social and emotional development, infant/child mental health, and inclusion. We use the Pyramid Model as the framework for social and emotional practices.

As GRIT continues to grow in our work, we have attracted new audiences to our social media platforms. In an effort to ensure our key messaging is meaningful to all of our followers, we have decided to communicate from one platform, GRIT. So, if you are looking to stay in touch, please head over to GRIT's page, as our one place for connection. Thanks for following us!

In the early years, social and emotional development is the equivalent of mental health. This looks like:
* Responsive relationships with attuned serve and return interactions
* Relationships and spaces that nurture physical, emotional, and psychological safety
* Predictable environments and routines
* Nurturing positive peer interactions as the building blocks to friendship
* Acknowledging, labeling, and co-regulating with children through all their emotions

We see this daily in our coaching visits to centres; what an honour to witness educators supporting mental health in action!

So much happening in this short song!
* Speech & language development 🗣
* Learning about musical rhythm and repetition 🎵
* Experiencing fun in diaper changing! 👶🏻
* Learning about animals 🦆
* Supporting turn-taking through play ↔

But probably most important:
* Connection and secure attachment supported by sharing joy together! 🥰
