🎨 Green Shack Program
Starting June 29, kids can enjoy FREE drop-in activities including games, crafts, sports. No registration required—just show up and join the fun! Recommended for ages 6-12, but all are welcome.

🏊 City of Edmonton Child & Youth Summer Pass
For just $25/month (ages 2-12) or $35/month (ages 13-17), children and youth can enjoy unlimited access to City recreation centres, pools, outdoor pools, gyms, drop-in activities, and more all summer long. Available June 10 – August 31. (City of Edmonton)

Griesbach, We Need a Little Village Magic 🌺Can you spare 1-2 hours once through the summer? Yes? Then this is for you.
They say it takes a village — and lucky for us, Griesbach truly is one.
We are so blessed to have beautiful memorial spaces woven right into the heart of our community, including the Poppy Garden at RCAF Park. This garden is more than a flower bed. It is a place of remembrance. A quiet tribute to our veterans, to service, to sacrifice, and to the history that makes Griesbach so special.
The City of Edmonton will be doing the initial planting, but now we need our community to help keep it beautiful through the summer.
We are looking for volunteers to help with simple weekly maintenance — mostly weeding, tidying, and giving the garden the care and respect it deserves. The goal is to create a once-a-week volunteer sign-up, and if enough wonderful neighbours step forward, each person or family may only need to take one week for the whole summer. (The city will provide all supplies and overview)
One Day, one hour. A little time. A big act of gratitude.
This is a chance to honour our veterans in a very real and visible way. It is a chance to teach our kids what remembrance looks like beyond one day in November. It is a chance to show the seniors, veterans, families, and neighbours who walk through RCAF Park that this community cares deeply about the places that tell our story.
And because Griesbach does not do anything halfway, we also have two other garden areas that could use some love if we have extra helping hands:
The roundabout at Gault Blvd
The garden area at Greenaway Avenue
All three are Partners in Parks locations, and with the City helping on planting, our role is simply to keep them beautiful, welcoming, and full of community pride.
You do not need to be a master gardener. You do not need fancy tools. You just need a little time, a willing heart, and maybe a pair of gloves you do not mind getting dirty.
Let’s bring these gardens back to life together.
For our veterans.
For our neighbours.
For our community.
For Griesbach.
Because this is what villages do. ❤️

🏊 Community Swim Update 🏊

Please note that community swim at Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre will be temporarily affected due to scheduled maintenance and facility events.

📌 Important Dates:
• The facility will be closed on Saturday, June 20 due to a scheduled Edmonton Elks game
• Community swim will continue:
 ▫️ Saturdays: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
 ▫️ Sundays: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
 until June 29

⏸️ Regular community swim programming will pause for the summer and resume after September 4.

Heads up, Griesbach! Street sweeping is coming in the next 24 hours. Make sure to sweep your sidewalk and move your vehicle off the road to avoid a ticket. Parking Ban in effect from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday. Visit edmonton.ca/StreetSweeping for details.
