πŸŽ‰ Happy Alberta Seniors’ Week! πŸŽ‰

From June 1 to June 7, we celebrate the contributions, wisdom, experience, and lasting impact of seniors across our communities.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Alberta Seniors’ Week, recognizing four decades of honoring the important role seniors play in building strong, connected, and vibrant communities.

At Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch, we are proud to work alongside seniors throughout the year through community safety initiatives, educational programs, social connections, and partnerships that help create safer and more inclusive neighbourhoods.

We thank Alberta’s seniors for their leadership, resilience, volunteerism, and the countless ways they continue to strengthen our communities every day.

Happy Seniors’ Week!

Red Dress Day – May 5

Today, Red Dress Day, we honour and remember the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people across Canada.

Red dresses, displayed in communities and public spaces, serve as powerful symbols of the thousands of Indigenous women and girls who are no longer with us, and those whose cases remain unresolved. They are a visual reminder of loss, and the urgent need for awareness, action, and change.

At Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch, we recognize that community safety must be inclusive, equitable, and rooted in respect for all. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities, families, and advocates who continue to call for justice, accountability, and meaningful change.

We encourage our community members to take a moment today to reflect, learn, and engage in conversations that promote understanding and reconciliation.

Together, we can help build safer, more compassionate communities for everyone.
