Polonez Polish Folk Arts Ensemble Polonez is an Edmonton, Canada, based not-for-profit organization that works to cultivate and share Polish culture, song and dance.

A Polonez performance is a whirlwind tour through hundreds of years of Polish Folk Culture! From the stately court dances of the nobility to the lively dances of the Polish countryside, Polonez strives to bring the vibrancy of Polish folk culture to audiences everywhere. Founded in 1982, Edmonton, AB, the ensemble has enthralled audiences at international dance festivals, the Winter Olympics and as a special guest with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble has also toured Poland by special invitation from the Polish Ministry of Culture and Arts. Under the artistic leadership of its founder, Dr. Walenty Michalik, the ensemble has earned a reputation for artistic excellence. Highlighting these achievements are numerous awards, such as the province of Alberta's Minister's Cultural Milestone Award and the Order of Merit in Cultural Promotion from the Polish Ministry of Culture and Arts in recognition of high level of technical and artistic achievement. Polonez is a non-profit organization that performs year round at public and private events, leaving audiences with a smile after every show. We invite you to share in the magic of Polish folklore!

🇨🇦❤️🇵🇱

Every practice brings us one step closer to Rzeszów.

Behind every performance are countless evenings spent rehearsing, sore feet, lots of laughs, and a team that continues to show up with dedication and heart.

Some of our dancers have been learning every dance from the very beginning, while others have been fine tuning every detail. No matter where they started, everyone has put in an incredible amount of work.

We couldn’t be more proud of this group and everything they’ve accomplished together.

Rzeszów, we can’t wait to bring a little Alberta energy your way on July 15. See you soon! ❤️✨

Spisz is a region in southern Poland along the Polish–Slovak border. ⛰️🇵🇱

As we often say, culture does not follow borders, it follows people. In the music and dances of Spisz, you can see and hear the influence of neighboring Slovakia and Hungary, creating a unique and vibrant cultural blend. 🎻✨

Our choreography of Spisz is a collection of traditional dances from the region, each reflecting the energy, character, and pride of the communities who have carried these traditions through generations. 💃

Through dances like these, we celebrate and preserve the stories, history, and spirit of Polish culture, sharing it with every performance. ❤️🇵🇱

Thank you for beautifully capturing this performance 📸

On February 28th, Polonez had the honour of performing at the Magyar Gala for the second year in a row, and we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity. ✨

We had the chance to experience beautiful Hungarian dances and share our performance of Spisz with the guests. 🇵🇱💃

The energy in the room was amazing, the people even better, and we’re so thankful to be part of this wonderful event once again. ❤️
