For Kyle, being part of the Carpenters’ Union means knowing that people genuinely care about your safety on the job. He values the benefits, including dental coverage, and appreciates that good work and dedication are recognized and rewarded. Kyle believes that when you put in the effort, it’s worth it in the long run.

People see the finished work, but they don't always see the grind it takes to get there, early mornings, pressure to perform, long days, and the mental weight that gets carried home after the tools are down.

In the trades, we're more than workers. We're people dealing with real stress every single day. Check in more. Support more.

Careers in the construction sector are in demand now and will remain so in the future, according to the Government of Canada. Skilled trades are leading the way, alongside technology, healthcare, and engineering.

The Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference was created to broaden the perspectives of future leaders in business, unions and public administration so that their decisions are based on a practical understanding of the influence of their organizations on the general welfare of the community.

Last week, Carpenters' Regional Council was pleased to welcome conference participants to our training centre and offices in Edmonton. Their visit also include a tour of ATCO Structures, a modular build construction facility supported by members of Local 2010. It was a great opportunity for the CRC to highlight the importance and value of union training while also showcasing some innovative work our members are doing in the field.

Many thanks to Fondation Rideau Hall Foundation for organizing the visit.
