Sunday, March 8 was filled with energy, teamwork, and unforgettable moments across the courts and the floor. 🏐🏑

We kicked off our first-ever Girls-Only Volleyball session in celebration of International Women’s Day, bringing young women together for skill-building, confidence, and fun through a special development session in partnership with Volleyball Alberta who is providing professional coaching! It was incredible to see the excitement, encouragement, and community spirit on display. Girls-only volleyball continues bi-weekly - register with the link in our bio!
This program is also supported by the Canadian Women & Sport Spotlight Grant, funded by the Government of Canada, helping create more opportunities for girls to stay active, build confidence, and connect through sport.

At the same time, the energy continued with IBHL programming, where players hit the floor for great plays, teamwork, and lots of fun. From exciting rallies to fast-paced hockey action, it was amazing to see everyone learning new skills and supporting one another.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers, coaches, organizers, and participants who helped make the day so special. We can’t wait for many more moments like this as the season continues. 💫

✨ Happy International Women’s Day! ✨

“Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge gender equality.”
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Give to Gain.”

Today, we recognize and celebrate the many women in our Jamat who contribute their time, talents, and leadership to strengthen our community. Through their dedication, resilience, and compassion, they continue to inspire those around them.

Women play an important role in shaping the future — by supporting one another, sharing experiences, and encouraging the next generation to grow with confidence and purpose. Their journeys remind us that true impact comes from lifting others up and creating spaces where everyone can thrive.

In this post, we highlight a few inspiring voices from our community and their reflections on leadership, mentorship, and growth.

Volleyball Drop-In is back starting this Sunday, March 8! 🏐🔥

Join us every Sunday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Sports Centre. Open to ages 14+ for just $10 per session.

The program alternates weekly:

Week 1: Girls Only structured development session in partnership with Volleyball Alberta — featuring 1 hour of certified coaching and 1 hour of gameplay. This program is supported by the Canadian Women & Sport Spotlight Grant, funded by the Government of Canada.

Week 2: Co-Ed Drop-In.

All skill levels welcome — bring your energy and invite your friends! 💪✨

⚽️ Indoor Youth Soccer League Recap – Ismaili Edmonton

This week’s session was filled with energy, teamwork, and skill-building as our youth athletes hit the field for another exciting indoor league night. From fast-paced drills to competitive scrimmages, our players showed determination, sportsmanship, and growth every step of the way.

A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches and volunteers who continue to create a positive and supportive environment for our youth to learn, compete, and connect.
