E2S Recognizes Spirit day, an anti-bullying campaign starting in 2010 to support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and raise awareness to the detrimental impacts of bullying. Spirit represents the colour purple in the pride flag.

Quick Stats:
📕1 in 2 2SLGBTQIA+ youth have experienced gender & sexuality based violence and harassment
(HRC, 2023)

📕“2SLGBTQ+ youth face a variety of stressors — harassment, family and peer rejection, bullying from their peers, isolation and a lack of a sense of belonging — [...] LGBTQ+ youth report much higher rates of depression, anxiety, and lower self-esteem than their cisgender and heterosexual peers.” (HRC, 2023)

📕Only 1 in 5 of 2SLGBTQ+ youth ever told a teacher or staff member about bullying encountered at school. 1 in 4 of those who told an adult said the adult “didn’t help me at all” (HRC, 2023)

📆New Monthly Calendars-
Going forward, we will post a monthly calendar that will outline all the days that E2S is hosting programming; please remember that all programs are now registered events due to limited capacity. (Scan the QR code to access our Linktree for registration forms)

☝️Additionally, the programs team is working on some new ideas on how to bring community together in new ways- so keep an eye out for surveys and feedback forms to help us determine which programs are most enticing!

🦻Also, we would like to express that we have heard and understand that folks are eagerly awaiting the Powwow Practices return- at this time, we are sorting out venues, partners and other additional details to ensure that our programs remain accessible and welcoming to all our 2sLGBTQQIA+ kin!
‼️This is extremely important to us and we want to prioritize making healthy relationships with all the people involved before we bring community into the space again‼️

E2S recognizes National Coming Out Day as a commemorative day to celebrate and honour the experience of coming into oneself.

“National Coming Out Day is not about demanding that anyone come out. It recognizes the power of being known and every 2SLGBTQ+ person's right to choose when, where, and with whom it is safe to be seen.” (Human Rights Committee, 2026)

“Visibility can help build understanding and support, but the responsibility for creating change should not fall on those most at risk of hostility. Being open remains a deeply personal choice.” (Human Rights Committee, 2026)

- Coming out is an important developmental milestone for Q***r youth. Affirming adults play a critically positive role in the lives of 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth

- 8 out of 10 2SLGBTQ+ adults are somewhat or very open about their identity.

- 2SLGBTQIA+ youth are most likely to be out to peers and friends their own age, especially peers who are 2SLGBTQIA+.

E2S Recognizes International Le***an Day, as a day to celebrate the history, diversity, and the culture of the Le***an community.

Le***ans have shown great amounts of collective care and solidarity for the entirety of the Q***r community throughout times of joy and struggle.

The 2SLGBTQIA+ acronym has the “L” placed just after the 2S as a recognition and a display of gratitude for the Le***an community and their unwavering advocacy throughout Q***r history.

Le***an culture, history, & diversity is sacred

Transgender Le***ans are valid
Femme Le***ans are valid
Butch Le***ans are valid

E2S recognizes Sisters in Spirit as a day to bring awareness and honour the lives of our missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two Spirit kin.
