[Research in Chemistry at the U of A]
First episode:
Dr. Alex Brown, PhD. Research Group in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry

The Brown group pursues diverse research in the field of computational and theoretical chemistry including photochemistry and photophysics driven by one- and multi-photon absorption of fluorescent proteins, small molecule biofluorophores, and phosphorescent inorganic species; molecular quantum dynamics and potential energy surface fitting; optimal control theory for laser control; as well as understanding novel bonding and structure in inorganic materials.

Join us at Meet The Profs Night on Feb 3 @ 8pm!
For more information, visit Dr. Brown’s group website at http://alexbrown.chem.ualberta.ca/

[Research in Chemistry at the U of A]
Second Episode:
Dr. Christopher Cairo, Research group in Chemical Biology.

The Cairo group uses medicinal chemistry, bioconjugate chemistry, and enzymology as our primary tools to study these systems. Applications in cell biology and immunology are being explored with fluorescence microscopy and biophysical methods including single particle tracking (SPT) and fluorescence photobleaching recovery (FPR). Their studies are focused on targets in human health including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and inflammation.
For more information, visit Dr. Cairo’s website at http://cairolab.ca/ or follow on Twitter for updates.
