We’re excited to announce that Skillcity Institute has been funded through the Black Ideas Grant – Catapult Stream to launch our:

🚀 STEM Talent Incubator for Black Youth

This initiative will equip youth in Edmonton with access to:
🔹 Hands-on STEM learning & VR/XR immersive experiences
🔹 Career-connected mentorship and industry exposure
🔹 Work-based learning opportunities
🔹 Future-skills micro-credentials in AI, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship

It’s about building pathways, representation, and unlocking real economic opportunity.

We’re reminded that so many young people are full of talent — but have never been shown what’s possible, what careers exist, or how their interests can turn into real opportunities.

At Skillcity Institute, we believe Black history is living history.
It shows up in classrooms, community spaces, maker labs, and career conversations.
