The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation advances children’s health care right in your own backyard by funding specialized care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and in communities across northern Alberta: state-of-the-art equipment and facilities; sub-specialty education to train the brightest medical minds; leading-edge research to discover new treatments and cures; and specialized programs that improve family-centred care, child and youth addiction and mental health services, and patient and family outcomes. As we look back on 25 years of the Stollery Children's Hospital, we can’t help but think of those who’ve been supporting since the very beginning!

Swagelok Edmonton (Edmonton Valve & Fitting Inc.) is a long-time corporate donor that’s been making a huge difference for Stollery kids since our very first fundraising campaign.

Their dedication to kids’ health care is felt through the entire company. Each year, we look forward to their annual golf tournament, where you can feel their passion with every swing. They also show up for Stollery kids each year at the Corus Radiothon. Not only do they provide impactful event sponsorship, but their staff also volunteers to answer the phones – with smiles you can hear through the calls.

In preparation of our month-long celebration, we took some time last month to cele-BEAR-ate these people – our incredible partners at the Stollery Children's Hospital, Women and Children's Health Research Institute and University of Alberta.

Today, we wanted to express our heartfelt thanks to our donors. We wouldn’t be where we are 25 years later without our incredible community of supporters.

Because of your generosity, we’re able to provide care during more than 377,000 patient visits each year, perform more than 12,000 surgeries and invest in the best people, programs, equipment and research to make sure the Stollery remains the most specialized children’s hospital in Western Canada.

And because of you, we're also advancing the future of kids’ health care by working towards building a stand-alone Stollery for the future. 🚀

Young Stollery fundraisers are making a lasting impact. 🫶

As we celebrate 25 years of the Stollery this month, we want to recognize one of our youngest fundraisers for making a huge difference in our community.

Liam has been a Stollery Superstar raising money for Stollery kids just like him for more than 12 years!

“As someone who wants to be a firefighter when I grow up, I know how important it is to have the right place to go in an emergency. I fundraise so that kids in Alberta have an amazing hospital that's designed for helping kids."

At four years old, Liam's family set up three jars for him to keep track of his money and learn about finances. The jars were labeled Give, Save and Spend. When it came time for Liam to donate from his Give jar, he chose the Stollery. Although he hadn’t been to the Stollery himself, Liam knew what it was like to take medicine that didn’t taste so good. So, he decided he would give to the Stollery so they could buy better tasting medicine for kids who needed it!

Now almost 16 years old, Liam’s hosting his 12th annual Stollery fundraiser. He’s become known for combining his passion for making bread with his dedication to fundraising for kids’ health care, selling his delicious loaves over the Thanksgiving weekend and collecting the money (still in a jar!) all these years later.

At last year’s annual Stollery Superstars Party, Liam received a top fundraising award: 2025 Stollery Superstar of the Year! His advice to other kids who want to make a difference and raise money for Stollery kids:

"If you're going to fundraise, make sure it's something you love doing! I love making bread. I love the smell, kneading it, spending time with my family to make something delicious and knowing that people are eating my bread as part of their holiday weekend.”
